Dear Matthew,
I tried to write this in a private letter but you aren't accepting them, so here goes --
I know you have a policy at CathInfo where what enters the blogosphere remains in the blogosphere, and we are responsible for our words, but I must ask you, in the name of Mary and all the saints, to take down my pornography "advice," not for my sake but for others who might read it or be tempted to read it.
Jesus said that even what we say in an idle moment will be held against us, and I know you are trying to stick to this policy by leaving every post up. But this website is not the eternal register of our words and deeds. You are a Catholic and must censor material that is harmful to souls.
If you want to make a compromise, delete my original post but leave the comments that followed. That should be enough for a public judgment and public tribunal.
I am not trying to absolve myself. Because even if my post is gone, the guilt remains, as what I said is going to be weighed on those scales against me. I am already in a lot of pain over this and will continue to be. I got too cocky too soon after baptism, and it's obvious to me now that somewhere deep in my reptilian brain, the pagan mindset remains.
If you leave this evil post up, however -- perhaps because you want to discredit me as I hold the sedevacantist position -- your sin will be far worse than mine. I'm not threatening you because I don't speak for God. I am rather on my knees begging you. Just search your own heart.
Delete it posthaste. Be a good moderator and protect the souls of what is in a way your flock. Maybe even write a note about why you're doing it. I think all of us here might learn something from this episode. As for myself, I need to get to confession.
God bless you,
Mike.
