9th Annual Marian Sisters’ Summer Camp for Girls
July 22-29, 2014, at Mount St. Michael

Few camps offer the unique Catholic perspective that flows from the joyful spirituality of traditional nuns in full habit.

Camp St. Philomena is a unique opportunity for girls ages 10-18 to enjoy a full week of wholesome fun under the care and guidance of traditional Catholic Sisters.

Here is a safe and positive Catholic environment where girls can make new friends, learn new artistic and musical skills, and form lifelong memories which will help them live their Faith in the years to come. Such activites as hiking, swimming, and playing games are to be expected, but at Camp St. Philomena, girls also interact closely with women consecrated to God in such a way that they catch a glimpse into their lives of prayer and dedication, while at the same time enjoying themselves in wonderful experiences not found at typical summer camps.

This is because the Sisters who staff Camp St. Philomena work hard to provide a setting which educates and forms the entire child — mind, body and soul. One of their goals is to show girls how to bring their Faith into every aspect of daily life — even those that involve recreation and relaxation. After all, there is no such thing as a sad saint! For example, these young ladies learn that performing the works of mercy, such as visiting the elderly or infirm, helps others to see God as they do, and hence spreads not only joy, but even plants the seeds of faith and supernatural charity. And as girls of different age levels interact with one another, they develop understanding, compassion, initiative, leadership, teamwork, various problem-solving skills, and ultimately, responsibility.
