I hope not because the St. Louis Cardinals have three game series against the Cincinnati Reds. It will be in Cincinnati.

These may be the only more or less traditional Cardinals left on the planet.

Sadly, no one plays ball in a traditional stadium anymore. Even the Tigers and the Yankees now have stadiums with fences that a fourteen-year-old girl can reach if she catches a fastball just right.

Are you still collecting baseball cards, by the way? You seemed to be in two minds about the hobby several months ago. Or have you decided to leave it to the kids? If the former, I can't help wondering whether the stats on the back of present-day cards include suspensions for drug use and felony convictions.

I've come to accept such behavior. Perhaps I just don't "get it," but I find absolutely no profit in speculating about the Apocalypse, the Three Days of Darkness, or any other "end times" event. Christ Himself told us that no one but the Father knows the hour, and I take His word on that. Even if I knew for certainty at what date and time the world would end, I could drop dead before it happens.

In my opinion, the best way to prepare for the end, whether it be the end of the world, or our own personal end, is to follow the teaching of the Church, and to stay close to the Sacraments. Endless speculation on when or how the end of the world might happen advances neither goal, and can actually hinder them if someone becomes frustrated when such predictions inevitably don't come true.

Yes - but whether it could be classified as actual collecting is to be debated. If I happen to run to Target or any other large store that sells baseball cards, I will grab a small pack or two and buy them. I haven't actually opened 90% of the packs I now own. Eventually, I will open all of them and categorize them by team.

It was during last year's world series that I decided to become a baseball fan. I went about it in a methodical manner. I waited until a couple weeks before spring training began then I went on e-bay and bought some intro-explanatory books on baseball and even some used baseball gloves. I willed myself to become a fan. Now I am one.

My comment regarding the Cardinals-Reds three game series on those three days was meant as a tongue-in-cheek response to the whole future forecast of impending disaster. Only Our Lord knows. Our job is to remain faithful Catholics.

This is great news for our fellow commenter Capt. McQuigg. The days of darkness won't interfere with the Reds-Cardinals games he's going to in Cincinnati!

Who knows what the situation will be in 2017? My own deep fear is that these references to "days of darkness" portend the ascendancy of Satan's spawn: the New York Yankees.

When the Three Days of Darkness is upon us, it will be an act of
God and his chosen time.

I do agree that it will happen during a Holy Week, an opinion of
some Saints, such as Padre Pio.
