2018: 85.32% of homicide suspects in Kansas City, Missouri were black

DAILYKENN.com -- 77.98 percent of homicides were committed by black males where the race of the suspect was known in Kansas City, Missouri in 2018. Black males comprise about 15 percent of the city's population. Black males, therefore, are about five times more likely to be homicide suspects than the overall population.

Not all black males are murder suspects.

That is, had there been no black males in Kansas City, Missouri in 2018, the homicide rate would have been 77.98 percent lower. Or, instead of 109 homicides where the race of the suspect was known, there would have been only 24 such homicides.

Including females, 85.32 percent of homicide suspects were black (7.34 percent of suspects were black females when the race of the suspect is known.)

That is, had there been no blacks in Kansas City, Missouri in 2018, the homicide rate would have been 85.32 percent lower. Or, instead of 109 homicides where the race of the suspect is known, there would have been only 16 such homicides.

There were 152 murder suspects in Kansas City, Missouri in 2018. The race of 109 of the suspects is known. 85 were black males. Eight were black females.

Eleven percent (12 total) of suspects were white when the race was known. 59.2 percent of the city's population is white.

Victims

72 percent of homicide victims in Kansas City, Missouri in 2018 were black. The city's population is 29.9 percent black.

25 percent of the city's homicide victims were white and 8 percent of the suspects are white.

The homicide rate in Kansas City is consistent with national FBI statistics that have consistently revealed that blacks commit over half of homicides in the nation even though they represent about 13 percent of the population.

• Most black homicide victims are killed by other blacks. This suggests to some that Black Lives Matter may be (a) hypocritical in refusing to express adequate concern for blacks killed by other blacks or (b) is misnamed.

• Males commit a disproportion number of homicides. No one cites sexism for the disproportionate number of males accused of murder. Yet many cite racism when the
disproportionate number of blacks are accused of murder.

"The facts" is racist.

"The facts" needs to go to a class and be indoctrinated to be more sensitive, more color-blind, less prejudiced, etc.

"The facts" must be laboring under centuries of prejudice orchestrated and perpetuated by Whitey because Whitey holds power.
