  • In the Vatican film archive a copy of an early filming of the novel >>Quo Vadis<<  by Henry Sienkiewicz was discovered.

Vatican City (kath.net/KNA)  IN the Vatican film archive a copy of an earlier film treatment of a novel by >>Quo Vadis<< by Henry Sienkiewicz has been discovered.   It is a German-Italian production by Gabriellino D'Annunzio and Georg Jacoby from 1924, as it was reported by the Vatican newspaper "Osservatore Romano" on Tuesday.  The silent film was not cataloged all this time.  It is was stored with other highly flammable celluloid films in low temperatures, now the rare find must be transferred to safer material, it read.
