  • My sister's ringtone is a nauseating selection from what I call "Protestant Rock." I think I'd rather be locked in a room and be forced to listen to (c)rap than that stuff. Does it repulse anyone else here as much as it does me?
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

I know what Prog Rock is but you give no example of who or what Prot Rock is.

I'm thinking something along these lines:

Maybe it's just me, but it's like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. I guess it just reminds me too much of my NO days and "Take Our Bread."

Ah, I see what you're saying.  When I was subjected to the NO Top 10, I always recall the 8-minute (take that, ELP!) Our Father that culminated in the upraised held hands with fellow parishoners.  Then the Morning Has Broken ditty that was sung during Communion.

  • I can't remember where I read it, but one of the punishments at Gitmo for the prisoners was a unending dose of the Barney theme song until they broke.  So, yes, some music can drive a person "nuts".
Amen quippe dico vobis donec transeat caelum et terra iota unum aut unus apex non praeteribit a lege donec omnia fiant  (For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. )

  • I don't know which I hate more; rap or charismatic mush music.
