  • I wanted to share this with you, as part of my Mexican heritage. Please feel free to do the same! :)

A 'Corrido' is a song, a ballad really, which described, usually, the oppression and daily life of commoners in different places and times. They were highly popular during the Cristiada, aka the Cristero war, with both sides, Catholic and Freemasonic government. The Cristiada was a period were the Freemasons in Mexico murdered many Catholic priests and laity and attempted to suppress the Church.

This is the Corrido de José de León Toral, or the Ballad of Jose Leon Toral; who was a Catholic revolutionary, and friend of Blessed Miguel Pro, a priest assasinated for fighting in the effort. On the middle of this page, there is a link to a song recorded in 1929; the quality isn't the best, but there is a translation of the words above it.

    Also a youtube link:

Blessed Miguel Pro, at his execution for fighing for the Catholic Faith:

    Praying just before death:

"When the initial shots of the firing squad failed to kill him, a soldier shot him point blank":

    Viva Cristo Rey!

  • Thank you! Jose de Leon Toral is one of my favorites Cristeros.

By the way, I just watched the movie "La Cristiada". Please don't miss it!
