  • Fine, Caminus, I apologize for saying you have bad will.  I didn't think that was judging intentions, I thought that I could judge bad will through someone's actions.  Perhaps that was wrong.

I will just say your actions and words are often hateful, which you have now revealed to everyone -- or at least they're becoming more aware -- and leave it at that.
As I was a new convert when posting here, my posts are often full of error, even unwitting heresy and rash judgment, all of which I renounce, and all my writings are best avoided -- MDLS

May God bless you, Raoul.  Manly and virtuous.

Oh come on now!  Down thumbing a post like  this is just childish.

    Is it?

I don't like it when SSPX sycophants crow over the self-abasement of critics.

Bishop Fellay has demonstrated his untrustworthiness.

I'm rather sure that if someone in the SSPX were to act the way Raoul is acting, and thereby incur the displeasure of his superiors, that he would be criticized for behaving in a cringing and unmanly manner.

Well, if you think a sincere acknowledgement of self-diagnosed wrong and an equally sincere apology is cringing and unmanly, all I can say is that I am sorry you feel that way.  Perhaps this is also cringing and unmanly.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

I wasn't criticizing Raoul's post, I was criticizing the effusive praise of it.

  • People who seek to right wrongs they have done aren't fishing for praise.

There's no need for people here to be ceaselessly patting each other on that back.

  • I was only "praising" Raoul for having the guts to make a new reparation thread after his original one got hijacked.

I recall he said last time that it was required of him by his confessor, so maybe it would be more accurate to say that he was  prodded to make a new thread?

It seems to me that there is a lot more back stabbing on this forum than back patting.

I think the reason why people on this forum react so positively to someone who publicly apologizes is that many of the arguments have been so long and so bitter. A change of heart and a retraction or apology comes as an encouraging surprise.

    Merry Christmas!

     :applause:

You're right, Canute. One of the worst things about the post-conciliar crisis is that we no longer trust any (or very few) living Church authorities. In fact, anybody from the last one hundred years or so is suspect. This leads us to believe the worst about everyone around us, especially anyone who disagrees with our own position.

I would also like to apologize for anyone I have offended here, especially the poster "pax". I don't agree with him, but I need to find a better way to defend my own arguments than resulting to insults.
St. Jude, who, disregarding the threats of the impious, courageously preached the doctrine of Christ,
    pray for us.

  • ADDITION:

I can't remember if I apologized in the other thread that was locked or not, but I will apologize for generally being suspicious or thinking that people like Pius XII or Abp. Lefebvre were deliberate conspirators.  I know I confessed this but can't remember if I made a general reparation.  I'm not going to go through all my errors, nor can I remember them, but it all comes down to suspicion without enough evidence.  I mistrusted pretty much everyone at one time so I'd be here all day if I mentioned all my mistakes.

  • Another retraction:  I believe  I once suggested the CMRI nuns who left to go back to the Novus Ordo were witches, which I apologize for.  S2Srea mentioned EWTN today, and I remembered when they went on Life on the Rock and I got outraged.
