People who seek to right wrongs they have done aren't fishing for praise.

There's no need for people here to be ceaselessly patting each other on that back.

I think the reason why people on this forum react so positively to someone who publicly apologizes is that many of the arguments have been so long and so bitter. A change of heart and a retraction or apology comes as an encouraging surprise.

Merry Christmas!

You're right, Canute. One of the worst things about the post-conciliar crisis is that we no longer trust any (or very few) living Church authorities. In fact, anybody from the last one hundred years or so is suspect. This leads us to believe the worst about everyone around us, especially anyone who disagrees with our own position.

I would also like to apologize for anyone I have offended here, especially the poster "pax". I don't agree with him, but I need to find a better way to defend my own arguments than resulting to insults.

ADDITION:

I can't remember if I apologized in the other thread that was locked or not, but I will apologize for generally being suspicious or thinking that people like Pius XII or Abp. Lefebvre were deliberate conspirators.  I know I confessed this but can't remember if I made a general reparation.  I'm not going to go through all my errors, nor can I remember them, but it all comes down to suspicion without enough evidence.  I mistrusted pretty much everyone at one time so I'd be here all day if I mentioned all my mistakes.

Another retraction:  I believe  I once suggested the CMRI nuns who left to go back to the Novus Ordo were witches, which I apologize for.  S2Srea mentioned EWTN today, and I remembered when they went on Life on the Rock and I got outraged.
