California would be a great place, if it weren't for all the freaks concentrated along the coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

My aunt lived in Merced, in the San Joaquin Valley, and it was an idyllic place, possibly the best agricultural land in the world.  I wouldn't mind living there.  Fresno and Bakersfield are actually pretty solid, conservative cities.  Far worse places.

Cal is much more than just San Fran & L.A.!!  Cal is big enuf to be a nation.  It has EVERYTHING - cities, rural areas , mountains, lakes, rivers, shoreline on the ocean, forests, plains, weirdos to entertain us & millions of ordinary folk making a living.  No other state in the union has what Cal has.

:jester:  My father was stationed in California in the navy in the 1950s for two or three years.  After he retired, he received annual letters for years from California demanding that he pay taxes on the portion of his military retirement pay he earned in California.  He threw them away every time.

I'm convinced that CA and all these liberal, western states are deliberately making living conditions, taxes, homelessness, welfare, etc worse and worse, to get people to leave.  They want to clear out normal Americans so when China invades, the rich commies and the Democrats can live there.  Then maybe they'll split off from Eastern America and cause a cινιℓ ωαr.  Plus, pushing out millions of Americans to live in Eastern states will further put pressure on the infrastructure of the poorer states.  Destroy America + enrich commies.  2 birds with 1 stone.
