Title: What do you think of a ratemyseminary website?
Post by: Thursday on September 27, 2011, 07:15:58 AM
I think young men entering the priesthood need a good website like the ratemyprofessorwebsite.

Several years ago I was doing some university courses online and on my second last course I got a professor who was extremely difficult. I wasn't sure if it was me or her but after referring to the rate my professor website I realized it was definitely her and was actually able to get my grades increased (knowing from the RMP website that the University was well aware of this women and the problems she made for students)

A friend of mine who I tried to get to take my advice before he entered the seminary had an awful time when he first entered. He has since moved on to another one which he likes but it cost him a lot of time and stress the first year. I think many lesser men or younger men would have just given up on their vocation.

I think that all seminarians should be going to the SSPX or the CMRI seminaries but I still think trying to help these kids get into conservative seminaries would be very helpful. And of course such a website might also help them avoid seminaries that have been taken over by the happy (gαy) army.

BTW this is just one of my ideas that will hardly see the light of day unless someone else does it.  But who knows, perhaps it wouldn't be that hard.  It would be nice to get one up before a pseudo traditional/NO group gets one going. If I did it it would definitely be biased towards traditional seminaries.

Thursday, I think it is not a good idea. Your intentions seem well, but if its ran anything like ratemyprofessor (with which I'm familiar with from school days), then I would say no because I'm sure sodomites and co. would use it for the exact opposite reason, don't you think?

Well hopefully the site owner could prevent it.  I really think that these folks can't stand the light of day. The only reason they have been able to get away with this kind of thing is that nobody knew what was going on.

Fair enough. But you have to ask yourself if it would be worth it and actually gain traction. Ratemyprofessor is pretty popular because its open to everyone. If young men are considering the seminary, and they want a "conservative" one, they'll probably know where they're going anyways.
