    The couple were identified as attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey. They were quickly doxed and subjected to threats on Twitter, leading to some publications removing their address from previous news coverage of their huge mansion.
    Others found that the couple have donated to both major political parties over the years, disappointing the mob that was sure they were staunch Republicans.

Gardner said, “I am alarmed at the events that occurred over the weekend, where peaceful protesters were met by guns.” In 2019, Gardner brought criminal charges against only 23% of cases that the police brought to her office. The turnover for state prosecutors has surpassed 100% since Gardner was elected.

    The McCloskeys are very well-educated people (both Phi Beta Kappa laureates), but they don't know shack jit about how to handle a weapon.

    Aside from that, they were just exercising their constitutional rights.  Missouri is an open carry state.
