  • The UK Prime Minister and his Chancellor of the Exchequer have shamelessly cast aside their required impartiality and are seizing every opportunity to get on air and scare UK voters into voting in support of continued membership of the European Union.
They completely ignore any of the potential benefits to be had from breaking away from the relentless march towards closer political, fiscal and military union with the EU.
They are under the thumb of those anonymous power factions who are committed to the furtherance of the European Project, as it is known behind the scenes.
Spokespeople for the "Leave" campaign are not having their side of the debate heard on the airwaves, and are having to resort to leaflet drops, street meetings and the few newspapers that are supportive of a British Exit (BRExit for short).
For those UK readers who want the UK to detach itself from the atheistic materialism of the EU, and to preserve UK values, culture, fiscal independence and military power, this is a plea to you all to vote for a "Leave" decision on June 23rd, and to try to persuade as many of your contacts as possible to use their vote and to use it for a "Leave" decision.
If these arguments are not sufficient, then please do it for the preservation of the Dowry of Mary.
    May God bless us all.

  • Hmm. I don't know. I've seen cogent arguments both for and against.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

  • If I was a Brit, I would vote YES to leave the European Union.  The EU is nothing
but an Ant-Christ block builder to a one world government.  Nothing Christian
and Catholic about the EU.  Dump that pagan Baal worshiping tower of
    Babel and communist structure.

  • On the economic front, no one really has a clue either way, so I think that, which seems to be what comprises the bulk of what is passing for ‘debate’ about the entire EU debacle, can be left to one side - everybody (as ever) talks nonsense and if we really want to make all our decisions based on what makes Mammon happiest then I’m not sure we should be making any decisions at all.

Instinctively I lean towards voting to leave the EU. Whatever the admirable ideals behind its original foundation, it’s grown cancerous and out of all proportion to what it can realistically achieve, and beyond any sense of common purpose or unity (behind the common purpose of lining the troughs of a particular group of people, anyway).

All the same if looking for a primarily Christian or Catholic perspective about the upcoming referendum, I confess to being rather stuck. Britain is not nor gives any likelihood of looking like it might, on leaving, be remotely capable of re-recognising itself for what it historically was as Our Lady’s Dowry. Or in fact being capable of moving one iota in the direction of more wholesome political or national morals. I think we are all damned (metaphorically, if not actually - who knows about that!?) if we leave just as much as if we stay.

That aside, there are arguments for both leaving and staying and so like most people with an actual say in this one is rather left scratching one’s head. There isn’t ultimately an ethical problem that can clearly be solved by reference to doctrine; it depends on wider aspects of one’s political ideology - it’s why I think most voters, if they intend to vote at all, have probably already made up their minds.

(Leaving aside the issue that the Prime Minister thoroughly fluffed the entire issue, because he could legitimately have lead a charge to reform the EU properly, with the support of other member governments who also have grievances against the current institutions, instead of running round humiliating the country begging for scraps).

When did David Cameron or George Osbourne ever say that they were going to be impartial on this issue?  If I recall correctly, they merely promised a referendum; they never said the government wasn't going to be taking sides.  To the contrary, I think they have been clear from the beginning that the government would be campaigning for the stay-in-the-EU side.

Not that I agree with their position; I'm just not sure where you got the idea that they were going to be impartial in this process.

  • There is an excellent film about the necessity of leaving the EU - a demonic organisation designed to bring Europe into the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr. Here is the link Brexit the Movie

We need a prayer campaign to achieve this. In recent years there has been two almost miraculous votes in the House of Commons of the British Parliament. They were totally unexpected and went against the tide and can only be accresited to prayer. They were the vote by MP's not to bomb Syria and the overwhelming vote against Euthansasia.

Can I ask all members of CI to offer up three Hail Marys each day until the day of the vote on 23rd June that a majority will vote to leave. If you have the time, please say the following prayer is said at Benediction -

    Prayer for England

O blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down in mercy upon England thy "Dowry" and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in thee. By thee it was that Jesus our Saviour and our hope was given unto the world; and He has given thee to us that we might hope still more. Plead for us thy children, whom thou didst receive and accept at the foot of the Cross, O sorrowful Mother. Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold they may be united to the supreme Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son. Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works we may all deserve to see and praise God, together with thee, in our heavenly home.
    Amen.
