I've read that Trump only tweeted that he did and nothing actually took effect.

40 years ago the old sitcom "Mash" had a cross dressing Corporal Klinger who dressed that way because he was trying to get a "section 8" discharge from the army.

A Section 8 is a category of discharge from the United States military, used for a service member judged mentally unfit for service.

The whole subject turns my stomach.

it is saying God made a mistake

or nature made a mistake, which of course happens but in the human realm, "mistakes" of nature still have some logic to them. For example, if someone dies early of some genetic "defect" well, maybe that person was supposed to die early b/c if she/he had lived a long life, would have lost his/her soul. God knows a lot of things we do not  know. But we arrogant humans think we are capable of learning all that He knows.. stupid.

So it makes perfect sense that after consulting with his military advisers, President Trump decided to ban a group of people who have been deemed to have a mental disorder and are more prone to ѕυιcιdє. President Trump’s decision was not made on a whim. The decision was made after he diligently assessed the situation and decided that the financial and security cost was just too much of a risk.

Nothing has been physically implemented yet. The President would have to go to the Secretary of Defense, and said Secretary would give the requisite orders to the five branches of the military to institute the ban. None of that has happened yet - simply tweeting about the possibility of a ban does not make the ban legal.
