  • What does it matter? Is this going to be the "straw"?

No, the last straw is long gone, it's just that this forum should have no time for fake news. But if it is accurate, surely all hell should break loose.

  • Is this true or fake news?

Will somebody please let us know.
It is from a known fake news site and this site is the source of all other places the story appears.

This article says it is fake news: http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2017/nov/22/yournewswirecom/no-proof-pope-francis-said-jesus-metaphorical/

Besides, it does not sound like Pope Francis; it is not ambiguous enough.  If it were him, he would say it without saying it.
Most sweet Jesus, whose overflowing charity for men is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt, behold us prostrate before you, eager to repair by a special act of homage the cruel indifference and injuries to which your loving Heart is

Thanks jaynek, you are absolutely correct, far too literal, how does one worm out of it.
