The NIE upsets Israel

Please don't tell me that all this concern and anxiety over Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program is not being generated principally by Israel.  The recently published U.S. National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), indicating that Iran had dropped their nuclear arms research in 2003, has got Israel in an absolute dither.  Ultimately, nuclear weapons or no, This rogue nation still wants her surrogate U.S. military to attack Iran and to elimate yet another ME threat to their security.  They want the U.S. the UK and their allies to go in and do the dirty work for them, which would, of course, result in enormous U.S. military casualties, not to mention the Iranian civilian population.  The bills for such a venture would be sent to U.S. and British taxpayers, as they have been for Iraq.
I've not heard of any other country, in the wake of the NIE, whose officials extended a special invitation to U.S. brass for a special emergency visit.  But that is exactly what the IDF Chief of General Staff and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have done.  At the behest of the latter, US Defense Sec. Robert Gates and Admiral Fallon, commander of the US Central Command will fly over to Israel and make just such a visit, hat-in-hand undoubtedly, to discuss the Iran situation.  Unbelievable!

It will never be completely over of course as long that Iran insist on enriching Uranium while not complying fully to the provisions of the IAEA.

Nevertheless, I believe a corner was turned and that an important policy shift was made this week.  It's no coincidence either that the Iraq security situation has improved so much of late.  In short, it' become virtually impossible for the Bush administration to make a case for military action against Iran.

Israel's situation is not much of a surprise, I'm more curious at the Russians response since they have lost much of their leverage with the release of the NIE.

I expected V. to drop in.  Whenever Israel is brought up in almost any context, V. is there to help deflect criticism against that rogue bunch.  (You don't by any chance have dual citizenship, do you, V.?)  I would hope that the majority of members of this forum are beginning to triangulate.
In any case, two points: It will never be completely over whether or not Iran insists on enriching Uranium.  If this bogus charge were suddenly to lose total traction,  Israel and its neocon Zionist co-conspirators in the US, UK and France would simply invent some other threat allegedly posed by Iran.   These criminals invented WMDs and the Al Qaeda threat.  That was enough to get Iraq sent back to the Stone Age.  Since the nuclear scare does not seem to be working very well now, I suspect that Israel and the neocons will come up with long range ballistic missles, or stockpiles of mustard gas, or, perhaps, some kind of Teslian super killer ray in the hands of the Iranians  It doesn't matter.  Whatever kind of fear propaganda work!  One lie is as good as another.
Secondly, o glib one, you have no proof that Iran is not in total compliance with the IAEA.  They, in fact are, from all I've read.  Again, this non-compliance charge is just another Zionist lie, and there is no solid evidence to back it up.
