    • The inquisition is the main reason why most "witch burnings" happened in Protestant Countries.

    Because the inquisitors investigated by looking for evidence instead of leave the case to popular superstition

    Alonso de Salazar is a good example of this, a case that was closed due to lack of evidence, which would have been a massacre if the people had judged them.
