It's getting harder and harder to believe Trump isn't in on all of this

Walmart meat section by my house.

Sorry, I have struggled for 10 years to get photos uploaded onto CI.

The photo you would have seen would have shown the beef, pork, and chicken sections at 75% empty.

I texted it to Mithrandylan; he can upload it if that is possible.

Ps: I also have pics from yesterday at the Sams Club showing the meat section 100% empty.

Meanwhile farmers are killing their herds and dumping them into landfills because the plants are all closed.

I hear Trump is forcing the plants to open, but is that to process meat, or just to euthanize cattle (one farmer tells me the latter!)?

Yep, same here in NE Ohio.  Major groceries stores nearly empty.

According to the federal guidelines, you can get $600 per week unemployment (=$15/hour for 40-hour week) if you "quit" your job due to COVID-19.  So all I have to do is to claim that I quite due to being scared of COVID.  This aid runs through the end of July, so don't expect the economy to start recovering until August at the earliest.

De facto extension of shutdowns.

De facto extension of shutdowns.

Precisely.  If you were a $10/hour worker who got laid off due to COVID, you get $200 per week regular unemployment PLUS the $600 Federal addition, so you're now making $20/hour on unemployment.  But you can get that $600 even if you quit ... those are the Ohio rules (which are based on the federal guidelines).

My area stores are running short but still have a supply but we also have local farms to buy from and a local processor ( not a big factory type )
