In a devastating new undercover video, released today by the Center for Medical Progress, the chief executive of an tissue-procurement company reports that Planned Parenthood supplies “a lot” of intact cadavers of aborted babies, and laughs at the shocked reactions of technicians who see the bodies.

Cate Dyer, the head of California-based StemExpress, tells an undercover interviewer that “lab techs freak out and have meltdowns” when they see the intact bodies of aborted babies. StemExpress had sought unsuccessfully to prevent release of the damaging video.

Dyer speaks at some length on the video about the business relationship between her company and Planned Parenthood, saying that “they are a volume institution.” She says that her company has a heavy demand for fetal tissues, which Planned Parenthood clinics can provide.

David Daleiden, who arranged the video recording for the Center for Medical Progress, remarks that StemExpress is the “weakest link” in the supply chain for fetal tissue, since the California company will “readily admit the profit motive that Planned Parenthood and their proxies have in supplying aborted baby parts.”

The Center for Medical Progress also notes that intact fetal cadavers, if they are to be suitable for medical research, are probably born alive before being harvested.

In the course of the video—the 8th in a series of exposes of the fetal-tissue business- Dyer also mentions that she has seen serious hygienic problems in some other abortion clinics. She refers to “rampant, rampant problems with bacteria” at clinics—apparently not those affiliated with Planned Parenthood.

In a related development, the Catholic Medical Association, the largest association of Catholic physicians and health-care professionals in the United States, has called upon the American Medical Association and all other medical organizations to condemn fetal organ trafficking.

The video features undercover conversations with Dr. Katharine Sheehan, the long-time medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest until 2013; Perrin Larton, the Procurement Manager for ABR; and Cate Dyer, the CEO of rival fetal tissue procurement company StemExpress.

Sheehan tells actors posing as a new human biologics company that at Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest, “We have already a relationship with ABR.” Sheehan explains, “We’ve been using them for over 10 years, really a long time, just kind of renegotiated the contract. They’re doing the big collections for government-level collections and things like that.” When one of the actors negotiates, “We return a portion of our fees to the clinics,” Sheehan responds eagerly, “Right, get a toe in and make it, make a pro–alright.”

In an August 27 letter to Congress, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards referenced a California Planned Parenthood affiliate that currently receives $60 “per tissue specimen” from a tissue procurement organization. The Center for Medical Progress, the group producing the videos, identified Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest and ABR as the affiliate and TPO referred to in Richards’ letter, based on process of elimination.

“We now know from Cecile Richards’ letter that $60 per collected tissue specimen is what will ‘get a toe in’ to harvest baby parts at Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest,” wrote CMP Project Lead David Daleiden. As multiple tissue specimens often come from a single fetus, $60/specimen can quickly add up to hundreds of extra dollars in revenue per abortion. The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).

Perrin Larton, the Procurement Manager at ABR, is shown describing ABR’s fetal tissue harvesting practice to a prospective buyer. “I literally have had women come in and they’ll go in the O.R. and they’re back out in 3 minutes, and I’m going, ‘What’s going on?’ Oh yeah, the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out,” she explains of situations where there has been a great enough degree of cervical dilation to procure an intact fetus.

ABR, founded in 1989 by CEO Linda Tracy, charges $340 per second-trimester fetal tissue specimen, yet seems less concerned about tissue quality than other harvesting companies: “Whenever we have a smooth portion of liver, we think that’s good!” says Larton.

Cate Dyer, who used to work as a procurement technician for ABR before founding her own company StemExpress, shares some of the financial details of ABR: “They were funding places in Hawaii for themselves,” she divulges. “Some staff–not that I know so much on the Planned Parenthood side, but I wouldn’t be surprised–there are some staff in the past that have been on the payroll with ABR.” According to Dyer, ABR would pay an “advisor fee” to a clinic manager or director in order to preserve their exclusive right to harvest fetal tissue at that location. “There’s like, well enough known,” says Dyer, that “for a long time there were certain clinics that because they had paid advisors that were sitting on boards for these clinics, that were also an advisor to ABR, you were just never going to go anywhere with them, you know what I mean?”

“In the twisted world of baby parts trafficking from Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, there are few unbroken rules,” notes CMP’s Daleiden. “After the serious admissions in Planned Parenthood’s letter to Congress last week, it is imperative for lawmakers and law enforcement to act decisively to determine the full extent of Planned Parenthood and their proxies’ lawbreaking, hold them accountable, and stop the taxpayer funding of these barbaric atrocities against humanity.”

The Center for Medical Progress, which has released a series of damaging undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the sale of fetal tissues, has now sent a letter to Congress, rebutting a Planned Parenthood defense of its policies.

“The Planned Parenthood report contains multiple erroneous statements and conclusions, yet by its own words finds no ‘substantive video manipulation’ and ‘no evidence of audio manipulation,’ the pro-life group observed in a press release.

In his letter to Congress, the Center for Medical Progress pointed out that Planned Parenthood had acknowledged that some clinics “may ‘adjust’ abortion procedures in order to obtain higher quality fetal tissue specimens.” That would be a violation of federal law, the group notes. Explaining the process of harvesting organs from aborted babies, the Center says that “this is a new revenue stream off of fetal tissue with no real cost to Planned Parenthood, and thus a criminal profit.”

The undercover videos released over the past several weeks have captured Planned Parenthood executives saying that they produce a large volume of fetal tissue for sale, and detailing how the income from these sales can be camouflaged to avoid giving clear evidence of a profitable business that would violate federal law.

Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston has released a statement on the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of fetal organs.

“That Planned Parenthood Inc. claims that these atrocities are permissible under federal law is indicative of a moral breakdown in our society and shows the immoral depths to which some segments of our society continue to fall,” he said. “We implore well-meaning individuals everywhere to unite in our denunciation of these horrendous acts and call on the federal and local government not to pay a blind eye to these allegations, but to launch formal investigations into the organ harvesting claims against Planned Parenthood in light of these videos so that evil may not prevail.”

The legal group Alliance Defending Freedom last week released a 13-page report detailing cases when Planned Parenthood has been accused of failing to report sɛҳuąƖ abuse.

The report is part of the national push to defund Planned Parenthood, in wake of videos released this summer by the Center for Medical Progress, which expose the abortion giant’s use of fetal tissue.

Today was the first in a series of hearings in Congress regarding an investigation into Planned Parenthood.

The House Judiciary Committee is the first of three House committees scheduled to consider the issue.

Here is a sample of some of the cases noted in the ADF report:

Alabama
A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Mobile failed to properly report the suspected sɛҳuąƖ abuse of a 14-year-old girl. The girl was a mother of two and received two abortions from the clinic within a 6-month time frame.

Arizona
A 12-year-old girl in foster care was impregnated by her 23-year-old foster brother, who took the girl to Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona for an abortion. Planned Parenthood failed to report the abuse, which continued, until six months later, after he brought the girl back and Planned Parenthood had committed another abortion.

California
A long-time 61-year-old swim coach abused numerous young girls over the years, including one 14-year-old girl who went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion in the early 1980s. The abortion and the abuse evidently went unreported, and many other young girls were subsequently abused.

Colorado
A 13-year-old girl was brought to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains by her abusive stepfather for an abortion. Despite different last names and requests for birth control made by the rapist, Planned Parenthood did not report any suspected abuse, performed the abortion and sent her home with her rapist who continued to abuse her.

Connecticut
A 14-year-old girl was impregnated by a 21-year-old three times in six months. Each time, she was taken to the Planned Parenthood clinic in Norwich for an abortion. Planned Parenthood’s failure to report the first statutory rape allowed the abuse to continue.

Minnesota
A 42-year-old man was prosecuted for sɛҳuąƖly abusing his son's 14-year-old girlfriend. At one point, he took her to Planned Parenthood to get birth control, which was evidently not reported to authorities.

Ohio
A 16-year-old who was impregnated by her biological father visited a local Planned Parenthood. She told a Planned Parenthood employee that she had been forced to have sex and to do things she did not want to do, but Planned Parenthood failed to report the abuse to authorities.

In the 10th in a series of undercover videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), executives of Planned Parenthood speak candidly about the damaging effects their organization would suffer if the public learned about their involvement in the sale of body parts from aborted babies.

“This is important,” says Vanessa Cullins, a vice president of Planned Parenthood, speaking to others active in the abortion industry. “This could destroy your organization and us, if we don’t time those conversations correctly.”

Deborah VanDerhei, Planned Parenthood’s national director for the Consortium of Abortion Providers, says that abortionists must be very careful in explaining their sale of body parts “because the headlines would be a disaster.” Carolyn Westhoff, the group’s senior medical adviser, recognizes “the potential for a huge PR issue in doing this.”

On the other hand, despite the threat of negative publicity—and the apparent violation of federal law against sale of fetal tissue—Planned Parenthood executives clearly do not wish to curtail their involvement in the practice. VanDerhei notes that the group has “independent colleagues who generate a fair amount of income doing this,” and says that the key challenge is “how we’re going to manage remuneration.” She concludes that sale of fetal tissues should be seen as “donation for remuneration.”

On the new video, Carolyn Westhoff speaks about the extensive involvement of abortionists with “people who want particular tissue: like, you know, they want cardiac, or they want eyes, or they want neural.” She boasts: “Everything we provide is fresh.”

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina during the CNN Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum on Wednesday in Simi Valley, California.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina drew raves from Republican and conservative observers Wednesday night with her answer to a question that dealt with the debate over funding for Planned Parenthood.

In the second prime-time Republican presidential debate, candidates sparred over whether Republicans in Congress should vote to defund the organization, even if it leads to a government shutdown. Planned Parenthood has come under intense scrutiny after the release of undercover videos that show Planned Parenthood executives discussing using aborted fetuses for research.

Some, including Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, argued that Republicans should wait until 2017 — when a Republican president could take office.

But others, such as Fiorina, said Republicans should take action now — and put the onus on President Barack Obama to veto a government-funding bill that defunds the organization. (The White House formally promised to do so on Wednesday.)

"I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, 'We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.' This is about the character of our nation. If we will not stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, shame on us!" Fiorina said, drawing raucous applause.

A federal appeals court has barred a district court judge from issuing an injunction to stop the release of undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), the group that has exposed the Planned Parenthood scandal.

In July, Judge William Orrick issued a temporary restraining order against the release of CMP videos of a meeting organized by the National Abortion Federation. That temporary order remains in effect, but CMP won a partial victory when the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the Judge Orrick could not issue an injunction to extend the order indefinitely. The appeals court also ruled that Judge Orrick could not require CMP to disclose information about its videos to the National Abortion Federation.

In a related development, a Congressional committee moved to circuмvent the restraining order on the CMP videos by issuing a subpoena for all of the undercover footage. The subpoena from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee would force disclosure of the footage that the restraining order has blocked from public release.

The temporary restraining order applies only to footage involving the National Abortion Federation. CMP has continued to release undercover videos of other groups—particularly Planned Parenthood—that are involved in the harvesting of fetal tissues.

David Daleiden, the head of the CMP effort, has vowed that his group will take its case to the US Supreme Court, if necessary, to ensure the eventual release of all its undercover reports.

A federal judge in California has ruled that the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) can submit its undercover videos of Planned Parenthood and other abortion-industry groups to a Congressional investigating committee.

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) had brought suit to prevent the release of the undercover videos, and had asked the court to block the CMP from complying with a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee.

In his October 6 ruling, Judge William Orrick recognized that a Congressional committee has its own power to subpoena evidence, “and it is not up to the courts to go beyond the narrow confines of determining the committee’s inquiry is in its province.”

However, Judge Orrick also ruled that the CMP must also turn over all video evidence to the NAF, which has won a temporary restraining order against public release of videos from its annual meeting. Judge Orrick said that he granted that request because he was persuaded that public disclosure of the material from the NAF meeting could cause irreparable harm to members of the pro-abortion group.

The judge ruled, however, that handing the videos over to a Congressional committee did not constitute public disclosure.

In the 11th video of the shocking CMP series, Dr. Amna Dermish, who performs abortions for Planned Parenthood in Austin, Texas, describes how she works to harvest fetal brains. “My aim is usually to get the specimens out pretty intact,” she says. Dr. Dermish reveals that she sometimes changes her abortion technique in order to harvest organs. She says that harvesting an intact brain is difficult, but “something to strive for.” The latest CMP video comes as state leaders in Texas are moving to block funding for Planned Parenthood. Governor Greg Abbott has said that the state now has “hard evidence” that Planned Parenthood has violated state and federal law in harvesting fetal organs for sale.
