Remember the pro-life Mass at St Pat's in the 1990's where "Act-Up" stormed in and disrupted the NO Mass at the Eucharist by rolling around on the floor and screaming like demons?
The whole congregation started reciting the Rosary until they were cleared out.
Now I would say the opposite would happen. Anyone challenging this blasphemy by attempting to defend the "Church" would be taken out and arrested with the approval of Dolan.
I hate to say it, but I feel so unattached to the Novus Ordo that I just see this stuff and ignore it because I know the NO Church is already an abomination to God who is allowing this to show that this is not the Catholic Church to begin with.
Yes, I remember this very well and felt pride (of the right sort) in how Catholics reacted. Now, the very idea that such bizarre looking and acting people were even permitted beyond the front doors is shocking. I used to go three to four days per week to 5:30 weekday Mass followed by Rosary, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and sometimes other devotions in the Lady Chapel. The Mass was novus ordo, but was reverent, said by one of two elderly priests with a religious brother for altar server. The priest gave Holy Communion, no ladies or lay people. Both would give Communion kneeling, on the tongue, no problem, and that’s how most people received Our Lord. The one priest also gave a short catechism on the Saint of the day.
St. Patrick’s had security guards who were Catholic, many were active or retire NYPD or FDNY. There were signs inside the lobby reminding visitors it was a house of worship, and visitors should conduct themselves properly. Those who violated these rules would be asked to leave. Security enforced it. People who were loud, permitted children to run amok, disobeyed the guards/ushers, took pictures in the Lady Chapel, talked or had bare midriffs, bare chests, backs, see through clothing, breast or butt cleavage showing, undergarments on display, etc. WERE asked to remain in the entryway. If they did enter the church, they were requested to leave, politely but firmly. Every now and then, someone would be escorted physically out of the Cathedral.
There was a very small gift shop in the far corner of the entryway which was closed during Mass. The atmosphere was one of reverence despite the Cathedral being open to tourists as a National Landmark. Now, I’ve heard it’s been turned into a huge flea market inside the doors, with noisy vending machines of commemorative coins, allows everyone and anyone to enter, wander around, be noisy, etc.
And now the Cathedral officials are trying to say they had no idea the deceased person was a well known transgender activist and self-declared witch? Shame on Cardinal Dolan! IMO, the Cathedral needs to be exorcised of demons, the schlock sales floor removed, and the entire premises deconsecrated.
