Talk about "a man who doesn't believe in God will believe in anything".
Even things that one can't measure, see or prove! That's the clincher!
Listen to the letter Dave reads on screen. The author must be a total zealot. He should join the Mormons with that kind of blind faith.
This man writes in to Dave Jones (a fervent atheist and "scientist"), even stating "You won't be able to convince me, and I won't be able to convince you."
Doesn't that sound like two religious followers arguing with each other?
Dave Jones is much more rational about it -- though he has some blind spots (the Moon Landing for example). But to his credit, he considers the worldwide broadcast in 1969 to be "evidence" for the Moon Landing. So he isn't accepting that without evidence. Dave Jones says, "I'm easy to convince, and so are all the other engineers. Just DEMONSTRATE IT. Show me the evidence and the data."
But some science-cultists aren't so grounded. They believe in things unseen, undemonstrated, and unproved (or unprovable) just like the most fervent religious zealot.
