  • They had as King over them, the Angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, the Destroyer).

    - Revelation 9:11 (HINT: Apollyon is another name for Apollo)

The New Testament passage from  the Book of Revelation seen above isn’t the only hint that Apollo, a violent, cruel, and sɛҳuąƖly degenerate Greco-Roman ‘god’ of the sun may represent a serious threat to the Biblical tradition. His outrageous sɛҳuąƖ immorality alone clearly indicates his violent, unnatural preferences (Rape and Sodomy) are merely an expression of his continued opposition to literally all that the ʝʊdɛօ/Christian tradition believes in (Monogamy, Marriage, and Family).

In fact. a fairly extensive amount of evidence, both biblical and historical, may also point to the ‘Divine’ Apollo as the very real Anti-Christ. Or, as the Prophet Isaiah accurately predicted many, many centuries ago: ‘Oh, Lucifer, Son of the Morning, how art thou fallen!’
    _________________

‘Apollyon’ translates to destroyer. Related to the Greek god Apollo. Apollo was considered the author of evil and its avoidance. Revelation- ‘They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.‘ (Revelation 9:11)

    _________________

Given the fact this particular god’s followers and worshipers has dropped from millions of devotees around 2,000 years ago, to near zero today (not counting a few hundred New Age lunatics scattered about), Apollo may not be in a very good mood right now- especially about the continued religious of a certain Jєωιѕн carpenter from Nazareth.  Indeed, this former god of the sun, who once lived atop Mt. Olympus far above the earth, probably didn’t appreciate the way a miniscule Jєωιѕн sect of nobodies managed to inevitably topple his sodomite Roman Empire, leaving it behind to crumble into ruins and dust. This too makes him an even more likely candidate for the Anti-Christ, both then and now, and perhaps until the End of Time.

    _____________________

John referred to a pavilion of Zeus, located on a hill overlooking the city of Pergamos, as ‘Satan’s seat’ (Revelation 2:13). John also mentioned Apollo, the son of Zeus, as ‘the angel of the bottomless pit’ in Revelation 9:11. The term “perdition” in Revelation 17:11 is translated from a Greek term meaning ‘Apollo’. Therefore, it seems that Irenaeus thought the Antichrist would be a Titan and son of Apollo.

    - John’s View of the Antichrist, By J. R. Church, The End Times Observer
The stone the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone. By the LORD this has been done and it is wonderful in our eyes.

  • I removed the graphical talk about rape -- this forum has all types of people, of all ages, and many would have a problem with such speech/graphics.

  • From both the Judaic and Christian perspectives, "ʝʊdɛօ-Christian" is an oxymoron in the vein of "defector-believer."

Consider, the two cases, the Christian perspective and the Judaic perspective.

    CASE #1 Christian Perspective

If you are a Christian you must believe that Jesus can neither deceive nor be deceived. If so, then you must take Him at His word in both the Old and New Testaments.

In Deuteronomy 28  http://www.drbo.org/chapter/05028.htm and Leviticus 26 http://www.drbo.org/chapter/03026.htm God specified the contract of the Mosaic Covenant. He specified the duties of the Israelites to obey Him, the rewards if they obeyed Him, and the penalties if they disobeyed Him.

Please note that God did NOT promise to reward defection with a real estate deal in the Middle East; He promised dispersal and misery.

What does God’s Inspired Word in the Old Testament say the Israelites did?

rejected Him (1 Kings 8:7), forsaken Him (1 Kings 8:8), served strange gods (1 Kings 8:8), hast not kept the commandments of the Lord (1 Kings 13:13), forsaken the commandments of God (3 Kings 18:18), forsaken the Lord (Isaias 65:11), forgotten His holy mountain [the commandments from Mt. Sinai] (Isaias 65:11), didn't listen to Him (Isaias 65:11), did evil (Isaias 65:11), didn't answer Him (Isaias 65:11), chosen the things that displease God (Isaias 65:11), forsake God (Jeremias 2:13), made up their own religion "that holds no water" (Jeremias 2:13), had not done God's work (Ezekiel 20:23), cast off His laws (Ezekiel 20:23), their eyes were after the idols of their fathers (Ezekiel 20:23), defiled Israel with idols (Ezekiel 36:16ff), profaned His Holy Name  (Ezekiel 36:16ff), lying pen of the scribes wrote falsehood Jeremias  (8:7ff), they all dealt deceitfully (Jeremias  8:10), sacrificed to idols (Jeremias 44:23), not walked in His law (Jeremias 44:23), disobeyed God's commandments (Jeremias 44:23), disobeyed God's Law (Baruch 2:10), the people of Israel will deny the Messiah (Daniel 9:25ff), no truth in Israel (Osee 4:1-2), no mercy in Israel (Osee 4:1-2), no knowledge of God in Israel (Osee 4:1-2), sacrificed to Baalim and other idols (Osee 11:2), covetous in all the Israelites (Amos 9:1), departed from the Law (Malachias 2:8-12), made void the Covenant Malachias (2:8-12), not kept God's ways (Malachias 2:8-12), despised their brothers (Malachias 2:8-12), committed abominations (Malachias 2:8-12), profaned the holiness of the Lord (Malachias 2:8-12), married the daughter of strange gods (Malachias 2:8-12)

Thus, they broke the contract of the Mosaic Covenant. God did not forsake His people or “repent of His gifts,” but His people rejected Him, worshipped false gods, and were wicked.

Mind you, this is the “Hebrew Bible” speaking God’s Word. There can be no honest claim that the “Hebrew Bible” is anti-Semitic; it is the Hebrews’ own scriptures.

What does God’s Inspired Word in the New Testament say they did?

At the time of His earthly ministry He accused the Pharisees of "voiding the commandments of God for the traditions of men." [Mark 7:9] He also noted that Moses accused the Pharisees [John 5:45-47], yet another indication of God’s judgment that His people had broken the Mosaic Covenant.

What else does God say of them?

Accused by Moses (John 5:45-47), adversaries to all men (St. Paul in I Thessalonians 2:14), agents of the devil (John 8:44), blind (Matthew 23:26), blind guides (Matthew 23:16, 17, 19, 24),  children of Hell (Matthew 23:15), children of the devil (John 8:44), crucifiers (Matthew 23:34), dangerous leaven (Matthew 16:6-12; Mark 8:15; Luke 12:1), defectors (Matthew 15:6; Mark 7:9, 13; John 5:45, 46, 47), deicides (St. Paul in I Thessalonians 2:14-15), dogs (Matthew 7:6; Apocalypse 22:16), foolish (Matthew 23:17), full of dead men's bones (Matthew 23:27), haters of God (John 15:24,25), hypocrites (Matthew 23:13, 14, 15, 23, 25, 27, 28, 29), idolaters (Apocalypse 22:16), iniquitous (Matthew 23:28), killers of the just (Matthew 23:35), killers of the prophets (Matthew 23:37; St. Paul  in I Thessalonians 2:14-15), liars (John 8:44, 55; Apocalypse 22:16), murderers (Matthew 23:31; Apocalypse 22:15), offspring of vipers (Luke 3:7), purveyors of fables (Titus 1:13-14), serpents (Matthew 23:33), sorcerers (Apocalypse 22:16), swine (Matthew 7:6), ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan (Apocalypse 2:9, 3:9), unchaste (Apocalypse 22:16), unclean (Matthew 23:25), vipers (Matthew 3:7; 12:34; 23:33), and whited sepulchers (Matthew 23:27).

So, having specified the penalties in the Old Testament, God passed Judgment on the Pharisees and Scribes:

axe laid to the root (Matthew 3:10), cast into the fire (Matthew 3:10; 7:19; Luke 3:9), condemned (Mark 16:16), cut down (Matthew 3:10), in vain do they worship me (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7), judgment of Hell (Matthew 23:33), shall be broken (Matthew 21:44), shall be ground into powder (Matthew 21:44), the kingdom of God shall be taken from you (Matthew 21:43), woe (Matthew 23:13, 14, 15, 16, 23, 25, 27; Luke 11:42, 46, 47, 52), wrath (Matthew 3:7; Luke 3:7; 21:23; St. Paul in I Thessalonians 2:16), and you do not enter the kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 23:13)

So, those who altered and defected from the Old Testament, Mosaic revelation, are not in the lineage of those who accept and submit to Mosaic revelation. Jesus warned us in Apocalypse 3:9 of impostors: http://www.drbo.org/chapter/73003.htm

And He pronounced judgment on the fate of the "proselytes" of the Pharisees at Matthew 23:15: http://www.drbo.org/chapter/47023.htm

So, those who defected from the Mosaic Covenant and rejected the New Covenant are not faithful, but apostate. Hence, "ʝʊdɛօ-Christian" is an oxymoron in the vein of "defector-believer."

What does God tell us about consorting with the unfaithful?

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?

What does Judaism say in this matter?

    CASE #2 Judiaism's Perspective

Whether from the Judaic or the Christian perspective, "ʝʊdɛօ-Christian" is an oxymoron in the vein of "defector-believer." From the Judaic perspective, Christians are “idolaters” (and so deserve death) because Christians worship “that man” (the тαℓмυdic epithet for Jesus Christ) as God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. From the Christian perspective Judaics, as proselytes in the line of the Pharisees, defected from the Mosaic Covenant and rejected the New Covenant, so are not faithful, but apostate. Notwithstanding smarmy flattery from Christians about “Elder Brothers” and notwithstanding the rabbis retailing their authority by “Noahide Laws,” the pretense of continuity is a lie.  Recall that, as freely stipulated by the rabbis, Judaism is a post-Christian religion, a reaction against Christianity.

“The thesis of this book is that Judaism and Christianity do not form a common tradition, ‘the ʝʊdɛօ-Christian tradition.’ They are not compatible ... only now, for reasons of politics and sociology, have some representatives of Judaism maintained otherwise....”

Who are the Pharisees and their followers?

Judaism boasts the lineage of the Pharisees:

"The Pharisees are important for two reasons. First, the Gospels portray them as one of the principle opposition groups to Jesus. Second, Judaism as we know it generally traces its roots back to the Pharisees." (Jacob Neusner, Judaism in the Beginning of Christianity [Philadelphia: Fortress Press 1984], p.45)

"This is not an uncommon impression and one finds it sometimes among Jєωs as well as Christians - that Judaism is the religion of the Hebrew Bible. It is, of course, a fallacious impression. Judaism is not the religion of the Bible." [Rabbi Ben Zion Bokser, Judaism and the Christian Predicament, New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1967, p.59, 159]

"The Jєωιѕн religion as it is today traces its descent, without a break, through all the centuries, from the Pharisees. Their leading ideas and methods found expression in a literature of enormous extent, of which a very great deal is still in existence. The тαℓмυd is the largest and most important single member of that literature, and round it are gathered a number of Midrashim, partly legal (Halachic) and partly works of edification (Haggadic). This literature, in its oldest elements, goes back to a time before the beginning of the Common Era, and comes down into the Middle Ages. Through it all run the lines of thought which were first drawn by the Pharisees, and the study of it is essential for any real understanding of Pharisaism." [Universal Jєωιѕн Encyclopedia, Vol. 3 pg. 474]

“Pharisaism became тαℓмυdism, тαℓмυdism became Medieval Rabbinism, and Medieval Rabbinism became Modern Rabbinism. But throughout these changes of name, inevitable adaptation of custom, and adjustment of Law, the spirit of the ancient Pharisee survives unaltered.” [Rabbi Dr. Finkelstein, The Pharisees: The Sociological Background of Their Faith, pg. xxi]

Do the followers of the Pharisees obey the Bible? God said, “No.” What do they say?

The rabbis even boast that they are divine, so can "alter the very content of Mosaic revelation”:

"... The rabbi constituted the projection of the divine on earth. Honor was due him more than to the scroll of the Torah, for through his learning and logic he might alter the very content of Mosaic revelation. He was Torah, not merely because he lived by it, but because at his best he constituted as compelling an embodiment of the heavenly model as did a Torah scroll itself." (Jacob Neusner "The Phenomenon of the Rabbi in Late Antiquity: II The Ritual of 'Being a Rabbi' in Later Sasanian Babylonia," Numen, Vol.17, Fasc. 1. [Feb., 1970], pp.3-4)

The Koliner rebbe [17th century rabbi of Prague] states: "Our Zaddikim's (famous Orthodox rabbis) words are more important than the Torah of Moses As our Sages teach: A Zaddik decrees, and God obeys." Jeremy Dauber, Antonio's Devils: Writers of the Jєωιѕн Enlightenment and the Birth of Modern Hebrew and Yiddish Literature, Stanford University, 2004, ISBN-13: 978-0804749015, p. 276, also docuмented in Judaism Discovered, p. 298

See also the boast at Tikkunei Zohar 1:27a that the тαℓмυd "buries Moses."

"The тαℓмυd is the written form of that which in the time of Jesus, was called the 'Tradition of the Elders,' and to which He makes frequent allusions." [Michael L. Rodkinson, The History of the тαℓмυd: From The Time Of Its Formation About 200 B. C. Up To The Present Time, Kessinger Publishing, LLC (June 8, 2006), ISBN-13: 978-1428631366, p.70]

“The complex of rabbinically ordained practices ... including most of the rules for the treatment of Scripture itself--do not derive from Scripture at all. Rabbinic Judaism's initial concern was with the elaboration and refinement of it's own system. Attaching the system to scripture was secondary. It therefore is misleading to depict rabbinic Judaism primarily as a consequence of an exegetical process or the organic unfolding of Scripture. Rather, rabbinic Judaism began as the work of a small, ambitious, and homogeneous group of pseudo-priests ...By the third century (A.D.) the rabbis expressed their self-conception in the ideology of "oral Torah" which held that a comprehensive body of teachings and practices (halachot) not included in Scripture had been given by God and through Moses only to the rabbinic establishment.” (Rabbinic Judaism: Structure and System, Jacob Nuesner, pp. 31-34)

    What is Torah?

Judaism teaches that there is Written Torah (Torah She BIch Tav) and Oral Torah (Torah She Beal Peh).

"The Holy One, Blessed be He, speaks Torah out of the mouths of all rabbis.” Haggadah 15b

It is important to understand that the тαℓмυd, considered to be "Torah" [vide infra], is dispositive for Judaism:

"The Bavli [Babylonian тαℓмυd] has formed the definitive statement of Judaism from the time of its closure to the present day." (Rabbi Jacob Neusner, quoted by Norman F. Cantor, The Sacred Chain: A History of the Jєωs, page 112) [N.B., Benedict XVI calls Rabbi Jacob Neusner a "great Jєωιѕн scholar" (cf. Jesus of Nazareth, Benedict XVI, p.71]).

"...the Babylonian тαℓмυd represents God in the flesh..." (Rabbi Jacob Neusner, Rabbinic Judaism, Minneapolis MN: Augsburg Fortress, 1995. p. 62)

"тαℓмυd --- The authoritative body of Jєωιѕн law and lore accuмulated over a period of seven centuries (c. 200 BCE - c. 500 CE) in Erets Israel and Babylonia." (The New Encyclopedia of Judaism, Geoffrey Wigider, editor in Chief, New York: New York University Press, 2002, ISBN 0814793996, page 747)

Note the several definitions of “Torah.”

"Originally, in order to maintain the distinction between the written Torah (see written law) and various traditional interpretations, customs and practices, the rabbis forbade the commitment to writing of the additional material. However, when it became too voluminous and chaotic conditions made oral transmission too uncertain, the ban was lifted and the material organized and transcribed in the form of the Mishnah, the тαℓмυd, and other rabbinic works. The rabbis expressed their view that 'two Torahs' were given at Sinai, a Written Torah [definition #1] and an Oral Torah [definition #2] (see oral law) and that at least some of the oral traditions relating to the meaning of basic biblical concepts were as authoritative as the written text (see halakah le-mosheh mi-sinai) In a sense the Oral Torah came to be regarded as more important than the Written Torah inasmuch as the explanations and understanding of the latter depended upon the former. A third meaning of the word "Torah" therefore includes elements of the Oral Torah, which are considered authoritative or deoraita ---"from the Torah. Finally in its broadest sense, the word 'Torah' is sometimes used to refer to the entire corpus of Halahak and Aggadah, Written and Oral, from the Bible up to and including the latest Responsa and homiletical interpretations of the rabbis [definition 3]...."  (The New Encyclopedia of Judaism, Geoffrey Wigoder editor in Chief, New York: New York University Press, 2002, ISBN 0814793996, page 778)

Note that there is a fourth definition of "Torah":

"... The rabbi constituted the projection of the divine on earth. Honor was due him more than to the scroll of the Torah, for through his learning and logic he might alter the very content of Mosaic revelation. He was Torah, [definition #4] not merely because he lived by it, but because at his best he constituted as compelling an embodiment of the heavenly model as did a Torah scroll itself." (Jacob Neusner "The Phenomenon of the Rabbi in Late Antiquity: II The Ritual of 'Being a Rabbi' in Later Sasanian Babylonia," Numen, Vol.17, Fasc. 1. [Feb., 1970], pp.3-4)

So, finally, what does Torah teach about Jesus? About Christians?

Since converts from Judaism revealed the foundational teachings of Judaism, much effort has been invested in sanitizing vernacular translations of the Torah She Beal Peh, the тαℓмυd and Kabbala.

These sanitized editions are useful to the rabbis: "See it's not there." Or "The tractate is about 'Balaam'"

In the sanitized тαℓмυd editions numerous code word substitutions are used for Christians (min, Cuthean, Egyptian, Epicurean, etc.) and Jesus of Nazareth ("that man," "the carpenter," "Balaam," "ben Pandera, a reference to the тαℓмυd's teaching that Jesus was the b-stard of a whore who committed adultery with a Roman soldier named Pandera, and even blank spaces).

The тαℓмυd (Torah SheBeal Peh) teaches that Jesus was a bastard born of an adulterous relationship (Kallah 51a) of a whore (Sanhedrin 106a) and that He is now in Hell boiling in feces because he "worshipped a brick" and, semen because he is accused of sɛҳuąƖ perversion. (Gittin 57a).

The тαℓмυd Sanhedrin 43a boasts that the Sanhedrin convicted Jesus and, at the Jєωιѕн court's instigation, He was crucified, “hanged,” even though the Romans were “inclined toward acquittal” of Jesus; therefore Jєωιѕн denial and blame-shifting to the Romans is a lie. The infamous Toldoth Jeschu, Maimonides' Hilkoth Akun V, 3 and Letter to Yemen), and the 1905 Jєωιѕн Encyclopedia (page 170), all boast of Jєωιѕн responsibility for Christ's death. The тαℓмυd notes that Jesus deserved four more deaths. Sanhedrin 52a suggests Jesus should have been strangled while immersed in dung. There are other тαℓмυdic passages that describe Jesus as an idolatrous sex freak, practicing black magic —and more. (See Princeton University Judaic Studies Prof. Peter Schafer, Jesus in the тαℓмυd, ISBN-13 978-0691129266)

If you are Jєωιѕн, you believe that Jesus of Nazareth was a deceiver, an idolator, who led Israel astray and that he deserved what he got.

"The very fact that the тαℓмυd's claim of Jesus' closeness to the Roman government reflects some knowledge ... of the New Testament narrative, particularly of John's version of it ... this detail exonerates the Roman government from the blame of Jesus' condemnation and consequently, adopting the Gospels' message, puts the thrust of the accusation on the Jєωs ... What we then have here in the [Babylonian тαℓмυd Sanhedrin 43a] is a powerful confirmation of the New Testament Passion narrative, a creative rereading, however, that not only knows some of its distinct details but proudly proclaims Jєωιѕн responsibility of Jesus' execution. [Princeton University Judaic Studies Prof. Peter Schafer, Jesus in the тαℓмυd, ISBN-13 978-0691129266 Princeton University Press, pp.73-74]

Since Gentiles, including Christians, only look like men, but have the souls of animals [among many, Kerithoth 6b, Sanhedrin 74b,Yebamoth 98a, Bereshith 47a, et al.], Gentiles are owed no debt of morality or decency - not honesty [Baba Kamma 113a], not property [Baba Mezia 24a], not even life! -"The best of the Gentiles should all be killed" [Soferim 15, rule 10].

"And for Christians let there be no hope..." (Birkat HaMinim, "Benediction" #12 of the Shmone Esreh)

"The best of the gentiles should all be killed." (Sopherim 15, rule 10)

Rabbi Eliyahu exhorts the killing of women and children:
    http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1180527966693&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

"It is our duty to praise the Master of All, to ascribe greatness to the molder of primeval creation, for He has not made us like the nations of the lands, for He has not assigned our portion like theirs nor our lot like theirs, for they bow to vanity and emptiness and pray to a god who cannot save--man, ash, blood, bile, stinking flesh, maggot, defiled men and women, adulterers and adulteresses, dying in their iniquity and rotting in their wickedness, worn out dust, rot of maggot [and worm]--and pray to a god who cannot save." (Aleinu from Judaic prayer book, Two Nations in Your Womb, Israel Jacob Yuval, University of California Press, 2006, p.119)

"You are adam ["man"], but goyim [gentiles] are not called adam ["man"]." (Kerithoth 6b)

"...'living soul' designates Israel because they are children of the Almighty, and their souls, which are holy, come from Him. From whence come the souls of otherpeoples? R[abbi] Eleazar said: 'They obtain souls from those sides of the left which convey impurity, and therefore they are all impure and defile those who have contact with them.'...'living soul' refers to Israel, who have holy living souls from above, and 'cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth,' to the other peoples who are not 'living soul," but who are as we have said." (Bereshith 47a)

"If a Noahite is striving in the learning of Torah... reveals new aspects of Torah, he may be PHYSICALLY RESTRAINED and informed that he is liable for CAPITAL PUNISHMENT... If the court that is established in consonance with the Seven Universal Laws gives the DEATH PENALTY to a Noahite, the EXECUTION is an atonement for the person's past transgression... Furthermore, the Noahite must experience REINCARNATION [Yes, Judaism teaches reincarnation] to be able to atone for transgressions he has done." Chaim Clorfene & Yakov Rogalsky, "The Path of the Righteous Gentile: An Introduction to the Seven Laws of the children of Noah," (Feldheim Publishers, 1987) p. 42 (The book bears an official letter of approval of its contents by Rabbi Mendel Feldman, Shearith Israel Congregation.)

"The Christians are idolaters, and Sunday is their holiday..." [Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Avodah Zorah, 9;4]

"The Christians are worshipers of Avodah Zorah ["idolatry"]" [Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Ma'akhalot Assurot, 11:7]

"It is a mitzvah [religious duty], however, to eradicate Jєωιѕн traitors, minim [Christians], and apikorsim, ["heretics," i.e., sincere Judaic converts to Christianity] and to cause them to descend to the pit of destruction, since they cause difficulty to the Jєωs and sway the people away from God, as did Jesus of Nazareth and his students, and Tzadok, Baithos, and their students. May the name of the wicked rot." [Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10]

"... a gentile who worships false gods is liable, [for the death penalty] provided he worships them in the accepted manner [in other words, insincere worship such as (1) faking worship to obtain business or social advantage, as the Marranos, or (2) denying Jesus' divinity, does not earn the death penalty]. A gentile is executed for every type of foreign worship which a Jєωιѕн court would consider worthy of capital punishment." [Maimonides, Hilchot Melachim XI, Mishneh Torah]

The Jєωιѕн Encyclopedia affirms that the punishment for Christian "idolatry" is beheading. See:
    "Laws, Noachian," Jєωιѕн Encyclopedia entry,

So, orthodox Jєωs too reject affinity with Christians.

They believe we are apostate idolaters who are not human and who should be killed. They believe that only Jєωs are human, that only they are believers.

We know they are apostates, we are believers, that all people are humans who should be loved and converted so that they may be saved. We know this because God tells us so.

So, from both the Jєωιѕн and Christian perspectives, "ʝʊdɛօ-Christian" is an oxymoron in the vein of "defector-believer."
