    Boycott Wal-Mart on "Black Friday"

Among American retailers, "Black Friday" relates to the day after Thanksgiving, in which shoppers put store revenues "in the black".

The predominately Protestant group American Family Association (AFA) is calling for a national boycott of Wal-Mart on "Black Friday", November 24th. This is in protest of the retail behemoth advocating new corporate policies promoting so-called "same-sex marriages" and the "gαy rights movement".

Many in the blogosphere - the world of bloggers - are advocating this boycott for this reason. But there are more reasons to fight Wal-Mart than this latest cave-in to the forces of the sɛҳuąƖ Revolution.

Wal-Mart, with over 4,000 stores worldwide, has a horrendous power over many local economies. It's yearly budget dwarfs that of several nations. Companies like Dial soap and Del Monte foods are dependent on this collosus for a good chunk of their yearly income. The Arkansas-based company have put small businesses out of business, has a record of mistrating it's workers, has ties with Red Chinese-based firms producing goods made with prison-based labor.

We will certainly join the AFA in this endeavor and advocate boycotting Wal-Mart on "Black Friday". But we Distributists wish to go further. We wish to see this monster brought down to earth, so to speak. We want to see the Wal-Mart retail chain smashed to pieces. It is no true friend to a market economy, consumer choice, worker's rights, pro-family policies or freedom.

So keep the boycott for beyond Friday. Shop at small stores in your area whenever possible. Do what you can, however small, to fight Wal-Mart until it is no more.

To all our American readers, have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
