Right on. If all it takes to be a Catholic is to be baptized and claim that some guy who lives in Rome and is dressed in white is the pope, then I guess the papacy is a nonessential office and has no real authority. It reduces the Church and Her hierarchy into a meaningless organization. Peter was to confirm his brethren, not to lead them into error and sin.

I hope the Protestant megachurches, Reformed and Orthodox enjoy their uptick in membership. /Sarcasm

Because while some will go to the traditionalist groups, a lot won't. They'll just bounce from Catholicism, entirely.
