Protestants are great at love-bombing and providing a happy-clappy fun-church atmosphere for all. That's why the NO is (has?) morphing (-ed?) into a protestant church-- it keeps seats warm. The worship in most protestant churches, especially evangelical ones, centers mostly on fellowship and whipping up the emotions through singing and group praise- kind of a happy mass hysteria with raised hands and swaying, 'falling-in-the-spirit', 'speaking in tongues' etc. Trads,on the other hand, attend Mass to worship Christ, receive the Sacraments, practice obedience, hear correct teaching and remain in a state of grace. We treat the Mass with solemnity and reverence because we know Christ is truly present in the Eucharist.
True love- or "charity" as we call it, sometimes means correcting each other when we show ourselves to be in error regarding Catholic understanding or behavior, so that the soul isn't lost to Hell... and that's definitely not happy-clappy fun-time.
So that may be why protestants "seem" more "loving" at first glance. They're great at parties.
( But then, we Catholics have been known to throw some pretty spectacular wakes...
