    So this was in 2019, and about a year later he starts getting national news coverage.

    He made the usual act of submission at the wailing wall. I cannot think of any serious candidate for high level political office who hasn't made this same gesture and of whom you can't find this very photo.

    Good point. It's a routine act of submission that *all* serious candidates have to make. Amazing how much power (((they))) have right now.

    I suppose it's a matter of who might do less harm. His COVID scepticism made it easier for traditional Catholics at least. Here in Ireland COVID meant police visits to chapels. If the governor didn't show his loyalty, so to speak, he'd be a fringe candidate.
