  • Pope's one-sided condemnation of Islam

In a speech delivered at Regensburg University on September 12 Pope Benedict XVI quoted a statement from Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Paleologos (1391-1425) to the effect that every single one of Mohammed's deviations from Christ's Revelation was of an evil and inhuman character, especially his call to spread Islam by the sword. Muslims around the world are incensed, particularly as the Pope palpably neglected to dissociate himself from such a viewpoint.

Given the current political climate and the savage atrocities recently committed by Israel against Lebanese Muslims (not to mention Lebanese Christians), such remarks, albeit just in themselves, will inevitably appear to Muslims as extremely one-sided and indeed politically motivated. Even more so when we consider that the Pope, a notorious ʝʊdɛօphile, refuses to balance his implicit condemnation of the Koran with an equally robust condemnation of the тαℓмυd, particularly its emphatic calls for Jєωs to make war, both morally and physically, on all Christians.

Despite talk of fatwas, the Pope's expression of regret will probably suffice to pacify Muslims for the time being. But this confirmation of the Pope's manifest bias and his allegiance to the chimerical and self-contradictory notion of ʝʊdɛօ-Christianity will not be forgotten by them in a hurry.
"In our time more than ever before, the greatest asset of the evil-disposed is the cowardice and weakness of good men, and all the vigour of Satan's reign is due to the easy-going weakness of Catholics." -St. Pius X

  • Yes. And also, if one reads the preface to the book The Hebrew People in the Scriptures, you will see that the then Cardinal Ratzinger asks if the current Catholic understanding of the Scriptures is wrong and that they must use the Jєωιѕн interpretation.

I forgot the source, Catholic Voice.

BTW, haven't you heard of the so-called "multireligious prayer" at Assisi, this past week? This shows me that Benedict XVI is still liberally minded, at least. And he hasn't done any real criticism of the Jєωs.

  • I am, sad to say, not surprised at the Ecuмenical Vespers service. I am not surprised that he is waffling on his statement of the "religion" of Peace.
I listen every day for something that will convince me that he is not a heretic that he is the  Pope, and I never hear it.
Let's face it, Blessed Urban II or Pope Pius V would not mumble, sorry. They would both shout "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW YOU INFIDELS???

  • I just turned the radio on the get the headlines. Rush Limbaugh spoke of the pope. He said the "Religion of Peace" is threatening to assasinate the Pope and the Followers of the Cross. Rush said the Muslims wanted an apology and the Pope did. In Rush's words, the Pope keeps sending apologies all over the place and should keep silent.
Just interesting on how one of the leaders of the conservative secular world views this.
