The Italian coast guard rescued another 293 migrants at sea and brought them to Sicily Tuesday. They join the nearly 60,000 migrants who have arrived in Italy in the first half of 2014, far more than the 42,000 who arrived in all of 2013.

Churches in Palermo have emptied out pews to make space for clean cots and community members are pitching in to cook meals and donate goods. Volunteers from the Catholic charity Caritas greet migrant boats at the port with food, clothes, doctors and even psychologists.

“We’ve substituted the altar with beds,” said the Rev. Rosario Francolino, who has been coordinating the reception of 700 Africans at a Palermo church since Sunday. “I think it’s the most beautiful Mass the community could celebrate.'

Pope Francis has come out with one of his boldest statements yet: European governments need to go to Africa to pick the invading forces up and bring them into Europe so that they don’t get hurt trying to cross in a boat.

In a letter to the International Labour Conference, Francis said that mass migration was one of the ‘grave issues’ confronting our world today.

After touching on the issue of unemployment, Francis wrote: ‘Another grave and related problem confronting our world is that of mass migration: the sheer numbers of men and women forced to seek work away from their homelands is a cause for concern.’

He wrote to delegates, meeting in Geneva this week: ‘Despite their hopes for a better future, they frequently encounter mistrust and exclusion, to say nothing of experiencing tragedies and disasters.’

He warned: ‘Human trafficking is a scourge, a crime against the whole of humanity.’

Francis called for a ‘concerted effort …to encourage governments to facilitate the movement of migrants for the benefit of all, thus eliminating human trafficking and perilous travel conditions.’

The letter follows two tragic shipwrecks in the Mediterranean earlier this month. A boat carrying hundreds of migrants sunk 100 miles off the coast of Italy, killing at least 18 with dozens more unaccounted for. A few days earlier 40 people drowned when a boat carrying 130 people sunk off the coast of Libya.'

It is practical, a bed is substantially more comfortable that a dining table.....

It looks like Europe will be permanently lost to the Faith. When the Moslem
population becomes the majority, they will enforce sharia law. It will
them impossible for a Catholic to practice his faith without being
martyred.
I know the modernists will be the firsts to defect from the Faith and
convert to Islam. They had no faith in the first place.
As with the Black population, crime will be rampant.  The Liberals
and the socialists will be living inside gated and protected
communities, and still promoting their failed social engineering.

I want to tell you an experience with a Muslim from Turkey when I
worked as a telephone operator many years ago.
She was a co-worker on this job.
When I tried to talk about Jesus to her, she started to scream at me,
and said she never wants to hear about Jesus ever again.  She acted
if she was possessed, and that I came into contact with the devil.
Outside any religious discussion, she was a very intelligent and
rational person.
These Muslims are very fanatical  on their religion, and that it the way
they are taught.
It takes me way back in time, when I was attending Parochial school,
near by was a school run by  Lutherans.   I remember meeting a
young Lutheran boy the same age I was.  We had many religious
discussions.   I pointed out were he was wrong, and misguided.
Always in a polite way. I always ended up winning.
This was before of Vatican 2.  

We should never give up on the evangelization. Jesus said to go out to all the world. He said that he would be with us forever. I know that there are Muslims out there who are interested in the Catholic Faith. We have to do what Jesus said. remember the promis that he made to us that he made to no other group. Tha the would be with us even until the end of the ages.

Frank the Fraud says "proselytizing is solemn nonsense" though Poche.  Have you ever read about Christians enslaved by moslems, moslems checking Christian girls for virginity, and such?  I suggest we sponsor a delegation of liberal "catholics" to go evangelize to the moslems.  Do you volunteer to be group leader Poche?

I volunteer to go wherever God wants me to give my life for the conversion of others.

Maybe you should become a postulant for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in San Francisco.  

And ask yourself why Pope Francis is calling "proselytizing" solemn nonsense?

Proselytizing is evangelizing is converting others is bringing people to the Catholic Church is spreading the gospel.   Pope Francis is being a divider by using such subversive descriptions.
