Uber has admitted that it fired a driver in Upstate New York for not taking his passenger to an abortion center where she had scheduled an abortion.
This petition demands that Uber respect their drivers' conscientious objection to abortion and other activities which end human life.
And, by the same token, in this case, Uber should also immediately rehire the fired driver.
Drivers are human beings with consciences, not robots.
So, when, as in this case, the driver determined where the passenger was going - and, what she was going to do - his conscience directed him to stop the car mid-way, knowing that if he were to continue to the appointed destination, he would also be complicit in taking the life of an innocent human being.
This driver did the only thing which he could do in this case - obey his conscience!*
And, Uber should honor and respect that.
The company needs to update their Community Guidelines to reflect that conscientious objection to passenger activities which result in the ending of human life should not result in drivers being fired.
We wouldn't be having this conversation if another Uber driver refused to drive his passenger to a Neo-nαzι meeting, especially if the passenger told him that it was to further arouse his hatred of Jєωs. Such a driver would be right to refuse to finish that route.
Likewise, what would happen to another hypothetical driver who refused to take her passenger to a dog fight because she could not in good conscience contribute to animal cruelty?
BUT, here, we are not talking about hypotheticals, but about abortion - and, taking the life of an innocent human being.
Please SIGN and SHARE this urgent petition telling Uber to update its Community Guidelines to respect conscientious objection against abortion and other life-ending passenger activities.

I disagree with this post. I object to the use of neo-nαzιs as the resident evil coming from a conservative source. I hate when that is done. We should not use those on the right or those seen to be on the right as examples of the ultimate evil. It is like begging the Communists to be nice to us because we are the good conservatives and not the bad ones, those evil neo-nαzιs. "further arouse his hatred of Jєωs"? On Cathinfo? Seriously?

Matthew just copied and pasted what was written by somebody else. Yeah I agree it’s ridiculous that “anti-semitism” is the paradigm of evil. But the article is about abortion.

Yeah, I caught that too, still the petition is good. Uber drivers shouldn't be forced to violate their conscience about such a serious matter like the tearing apart of the unborn in their mothers' wombs.

He is speaking the language of the people reading it -- for so many people, if asked to name "evil" they would say nαzι or Hitler. Ridiculous, but true.

Yes. I agree with the main point of course. Sometimes I forget that the world is not like Cathinfo and my experiences with my friends at Church. I live in a bubble where everyone believes in Jєωιѕн cօռspιʀαcιҽs and half of them believe the "h0Ɩ0cαųst" never happened, and some think Hitler was actually the hero of the twentieth century, that when I hear "normie" speak about history it seems strange to me. Like it bothers me when people like Charles Coulombe (who is beyond the pale for most normies) talk about history and try to absolve their supposed heroes of charges of anti-semitism as if that was the only unforgivable sin.

He should have used the example of a terrorist using Uber to get to the site of a planned terrorist attack, although that might have stretched credibility.
Maybe an angry ex-spouse planning to do violence to an ex-spouse's person or property? I don't know. He should have been able to brainstorm something more creative than the cliche go-to boogeyman, the nαzιs. Since when were the nαzιs only against Jєωs? They were a National Socialist movement (yes Socialist, like the growing movement within the Democratic party today!) who were against many groups of people besides the Jєωs.

But then again, how relevant are nαzιs or the KKK in 2019? They barely even exist, and certainly have no measurable power or influence anywhere in the country. They are the dumbest, most non-existent, most toothless boogeymen a large number of people still actually fear.
