The Satanic Temple has announced on its instagram page that the United States Internal Revenue Service has awarded them tax exempt status.
What this means is that they are now recognized by the federal government, legally speaking, as a church.
This egregious decision runs counter to everything America stands for.
The effect of this will be that the Satanic Temple will have the same access to public spaces as other churches and will enable them to apply for religious-based grants.
In recent years, the Satanic Temple has successfully erected monuments to the devil, sometimes right next to  the 10 Commandments and Christmas trees.
But Satanism is not a church. It is an anti-church that worships Lucifer.
In no way should the American government recognize this organization as being legally the same as a church that worships Almighty God.
This horrible decision will only result in the spreading of insidious ideas and a further tearing apart of America's Christian heritage.

  • As egregious as this is, I’ll admit that I’ve always been a little wary of online petitions. You probably know a lot more about this kind of stuff than I do, but it seems to me that they’re more about data mining and collecting personal info, than about making any meaningful difference.

Not to mention the fact that the IRS is, in some sense, a satanic temple of its own, lol...

  • I guess what I should’ve said is: how can a satanic temple grant tax exempt status to itself? Haha!

And to think that people think Trads are paranoid! hahaha

Seriously though, I do know more about this stuff than you, especially in this case. There is no nefarious agenda at LifeSiteNews. They are a completely good, Catholic, pro-life organization, trying to make a meaningful difference. They deserve our unreserved trust and support.

Also, I should point out that such paranoia is actually very sad. It means that some Trads have lost all trust in everyone and everything. It's like a small child who is pathologically shy and afraid of all people, because every person they've ever known has physically and/or sɛҳuąƖly abused them. EXTREMELY tragic and sad.

  • Whoops, somehow I missed that the petition was through lifesitenews...I thought it was through one of these change.org sites.

I saw someone on the forum blasting lifesitenews because it wasn't trad...don't worry, I actually quite enjoy most of the content there.

I wouldn't vouch for Change.org at all. I know nothing about them.

  • I do agree with you about the paranoia. I mean, I've been reading cathinfo for the better part of 10 years, and only signed up now. I'm just skeptical of anything digital, I guess, but learning to recognize the necessity.

The whole country should sign this petition! And Change.org is ok, just send all the emails they will send you into your spam folder.

  • Just a thought for today --

What if I had been a real go-getter, and had invented Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram? Besides the fact I'd be ludicrously wealthy, what would I do when the Satanic Temple signs up for an account? Could I just delete their account without getting in any legal trouble? Even if most people would overlook my bias in that case, what about when I deleted Planned Parenthood, the SPLC, and other evil groups? Eventually I'd get a reputation for "conservative only" and instead of really being Youtube, I would essentially be Godtube instead, which is much less lucrative and popular.

It seems that even many "safe" careers and businesses are fraught with danger for Traditional Catholics, in this extremely corrupted modern world we live in.

Ha ha, if you did that, it's all but guaranteed that you would not be very rich at all, at least not from those sites. More likely you'd be out of business real quick after getting or hauled in before congress, slandered, blackballed, and falsely accused of of the crime of being a white nationalist, racism and every liberal phoiabism there is.

Well, so is Judaism, and every non-Catholic sect for that matter  :)

But I'm guessing that it wouldn't fly far with the IRS, so it's a worthy cause.

Not to say that non-Catholic religions are OK, or should be allowed, but is there a difference between by happenstance being in league with Satan by virtue of being "not Catholic", and outright going out of your way to worship Lucifer?  It seems like the latter is still more horrifying, but maybe I'm wrong.

Are heretics (Orthodox, Protestants, etc.) actually worshipping satan somehow?

Well ... St. Paul DID refer to the Jєωs as the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan.   ;)

In a way they're even more dangerous than the Satanists.  At least with the Satanists you know where they stand, whereas the Jєωs pretend to be serving God.

  • Satanism is a religion and they worship their god, so, it gets tax free status in the USA, just like all the other false religions. American Catholics do not really believe that Protestants are enemies of Christ and in league with the devil, the same as all false religions (Jєωιѕн, Mohamedan, Hindu, Buddhist.....) so, it is no surprise that they would put forward this petition.

Reminds me of the couples who live together out of wedlock, or the ones divorced and remarried a few time, who fight against the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ marriage laws. There's no difference between all of them.

Is it though?  I mean, I realize both are mortal sins.  But wouldn't ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity be a more grievous violation of natural law than divorce and remarriage?  More overt?
