Yes, worldly minded people make idols of so-called celebrities.  I don’t think this is a fault into which serious Catholics fall.  We can do fall into making idols of priests, bishops, others in our midst.  There are people who “worship” an organization such as SSPX, SSPV, or likewise.  Some traditional Catholics fall into the trap of idolizing their spouse, their boy/girl friend, their particular chapel, their stand upon various issues like Bod or una cuм, their indignation with Vat. 2 or the novus ordo. Whenever anything created becomes more important to us than God, we commit idolatry.

Work can be an idol.   True what you say about church related things.
