Title: People dying for freedom of expression/press
Post by: Disputaciones on April 28, 2018, 12:14:29 PM
There was a sort of revolution in my home country of Nicaragua recently, the 19th, where the nation in general revolted against the unconstitutional president there. The cause was just: protests against the recent social security reforms where they were going to make people pay more and take 5% off of what those who were already retired were receiving.

But then the students and those fighting in the streets against the police and the government thugs were saying that they were also dying for freedom of expression and the press. Many died in the battles around the country, up to 63 so far.

I know its a duty to defend the country and all that, but what is one to think when they throw those condemned ideas into the mix?

I am sorry to hear about the troubles. But I don't understand what you mean by

what is one to think when they throw those condemned ideas into the mix?

What condemned ideas?

I found this funny from Takimag this last week:

Quote
At some point in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 14, gαy civil-rights lawyer David Buckel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Buckel#Death)’s life went up in a little gαy puff of smoke...
Fastidiously gαy to the last minute, he even apologized for his untidy demise in a handwritten ѕυιcιdє note near his charred corpse

I thought it hilarious.  The title of the article is: Virtue-Signaling Yourself to Death (http://takimag.com/article/virtue_signaling_yourself_to_death_jim_goad#axzz5E30AXNnk)
