Our Lady a "birthing person"?

  • We should have seen this coming.  There are people who want to replace the word "mother" with "birthing person", because, you see, not every person with a womb and a reproductive system suited for carrying and delivering an unborn child, identifies as a "woman" --- some are "non-binary" and some self-identify as male.  Even "womb" could be problematical, as I've heard some junk science (or at least I hope it's junk science) about finding a way for an implanted embryo to grow inside of a man's body.  Obviously a C-section would be needed.

I have to wonder if somewhere, someone is going to agitate to change the Hail Mary --- "blessed are you among people" and "birthing person of God"?  Possibly change "Lord" to "creator"?

As another correspondent said on this forum, "Lord, just end it".  I'd be fine with that.  I enjoy life and I have a "bucket list" (mostly involving travel), but those things are "nice but not necessary".  Last night I heard some aircraft overhead, and I thought, I know they're not, but if --- just if --- they were enemy ICBMs, "Lord, into Your Hands I commend my spirit", it'll be over so fast that there won't be any suffering, so be it.

  • This is old news -- I can't remember the phrase (because I haven't adopted it, and it's stupid) but I think it had to do with menstruation. It made all the rounds (all the conservative and alt-news sites), maybe a year or more ago.

It was something like "menstruating persons" but that wasn't it. That was the sense of it though -- the idea was to include true/biological women that (insanely) identify as men.

It's along the same lines as "men can give birth" or "men can have periods". Of course, once you accept that a woman who decides to call herself a "man" is a true man, then yes, "men" CAN do those female-only things.

Sane people reject the premise that a trans-man is a man, however. Those who are still sane insist that biology dictates your sex (some call it gender, but falsely).

  • The kind of people who would replace the word mother with birthing person aren't going to be the kind of people who pray the Hail Mary.

  • "birthing person" sounds so robotic and inhuman. Just like Communists.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

Perhaps, but never underestimate the determination of a heretic.

Someone might do it, just to prove a point.

Exactly.  You are just a cog in the machine, and individuality counts for nothing, everyone is just "the masses".

Sad, but you're right.  Hatred for the Blessed Mother is, I think, the reason many, many people go to hell.
