Ohio already passed a heartbeat bill a few years ago banning abortion after a heartbeat can be detected and the governor signed it into law. But it was struck down by courts.
I think they’re just rewording it to use the same approach that Texas used. Yet it goes even farther ... from the moment of fertilization, i.e. conception.
It already had 33 sponsors out of 99 legislators, so I think it has a good chance of passing.
Just remains to be seen what the courts will do to it.
