  • a Traditional catholic website, has some images of a convent in which nuns give massage to people and also wash them (note:these people are not poor they go there for fun)
Now I want to reach to this conclusion:
in ascetic books it is written:"humble yourself, you are dust and ashes,a miserable worm, you are worthy to be trodden under feet by all,be not proud of your calling, etc. etc."
now if those nuns should realy obey the above sentences and consider themself the lowliest of all,and think of others as their masters, why shouldn't they wash the visitors to their convent?why not to humble themselves in such an excess and serve their"masters"?

the other conclusion:catholisim has an anti-egalitarian spirit and also something called holy pride it mean that when an ordained man sees some laymen playing cards or dice he must say:"my vocation is too high for that" in the same way when a nun sees a lay woman giving massage to other ladies she must say to herself:"she can lawfuly do that but my calling is too high for such a thing"

there are some books written by saints like St.Jerome and St.Alphonsus in which they command nuns to think of themselves as queens or even greater than an empress and therefore learn a holy pride and avoid base things even the company of seculars.A priest too should look with reverence at his own hands(which touches our Lord)and don't corrupt them by doing certain things(that can be OK for a layman)
after V2 this holy pride is ignored and abandoned.

how can one reconcile the words of Sts Jerome and
Alphonsus with those of St.Paul that tells us to consider others our superiors?
