I know nothing about her, but this is floating on the internet:

"...As Adrienne von Speyr was driving home from her medical practice in Basel, Switzerland, one day in 1942, she suddenly saw a bright light in front of her car.¹ Someone shouted from the sidewalk, “Is something burning in that car?” At that moment in the car, she heard a voice say to her, “Tu vivras au ciel et sur la terre [You will live in heaven and on earth].”² For the rest of her life, von Speyr had a flood of mystical experiences from the open heaven. The heavenly world of the Trinity rushed into her earthly life. At the...

Is this was prompted Fr. M. Martin to presume she was up there?

Martin called Adrienne von Speyr Hans Urs von Balthasar's "beloved".  John Paul II Beatified? p. 27:Martin thought she preceded Balthasar to heaven!

So, Fr, Martin SAID she preceded ...  Unfortunately, it's hard to know what Fr. Martin actually THOUGHT, since he would often contradict himself.

According to this video with the author, Martin's landlords were a husband and wife. He had a small room in their spacious home. I have read this from other sources as well. This explains why "no effort was made to conceal". The word "concubine" has no basis in fact, only in the fevered imagination of Gary Giuffre.

Can anyone even verify that this man was indeed close to Fr. Martin?

As I point out, there's already a blatant contradiction here with the Third Secret story:

Fr. Coomaraswamy says Fr. Martin told him that John XXIII (Roncalli) handed it to him to read while they were both riding in a car.
Marro say Fr. Martin told him that Cardinal Bea handed him a copy after a meeting where a heated argument could be heard outside.

There are only 3 Possibilities here ...

Fr. Coomaraswamy is lying
Marro is lying
Fr. Martin told two different stories, having lost track of his own lies.

I would rule out the first one, since Fr. Coomaraswamy, whatever you might think of him, was an honest man and not a liar.

I have yet to see any independent verification that this Marro character was close wtih Fr. Martin.  Why wait until 25+ years after Fr. Martin's death to reveal this bombshell that Malachi Martin was already a bishop?  Why now?  This makes me suspicious that perhaps he decided that he needed / wanted the money.

I just read the chapter about Father Martin being tortured, first in Czech Republic then Kiev.

Nothing about that story makes sense, not the chronology, not the individuals mentioned, not the alleged reasons he was there.

Says he was already a prisoner by eary 1957 after having been consecrated a bishop by Cardinal Tardini.  Father Tardini was not consecrated a bishop nor made a Cardinal until December of 1958, by Roncalli.  Then Fr. (Bishop?)_ Martin allegedly returns to Rome after the Vatican diplomatic corps secured his release and had a brief meeting with Pope Pius XII ... who was no longer alive when Tardini was functioning.

Earlier, it said that Father Martin had written some book about the Dead Sea scrolls, which was published in early 1958 (that book does exist and was published in 1958 ... I looked it up) ... but he would have just been released from prison after nearly 2 years there, so how did he write this book while being tortured in prison?

That chapter detailed some extreme tortures he allegedly underwent there, as well as describing various visions, locutions, and other mystical experiences, including some that he experienced as a young childre.

So, the story goes that he was consecrated a bishop to go into Czech Republic for the sole mission of confronting a Czech priest who had gotten married and then if he didn't repent, he was to laicize this priest.  His contact there was some Czech Bishop named Bishop Hlonoc.  I can find no evidence that a bishop by that name existed, and I tried searching on variants of the name, not on catholic-hierarchy, nor anywhere else.  Also, this bishop was loyal to the Holy See and also attempting to discipline the priest, so why did Fr. Martin need to be a bishop, and train for months about how to sneak into Czech Republic, including by US paratroopers, so that he could be parachuted in by stealth ... why did he need to do all this just to deliver a laicization to this priest.  He needn't have been a bishop just to take the news, PLUS, why couldn't that Bishop Hlonoc done the same thing himself?

None of this makes ANY sense, not the persons, not the times, not the rational for his spending months learning how to parachute in just to reprimand a single degenerate priest.  I find this story to be filled with more holes than Swiss cheese, to the point of being borderline absurd.

Not sure what to make of this ... whether Marro made it all up.  But then couldn't he spend 10 minutes doing research to get the names and places correct?  Whether or not he was making this up, just a tad bit of research could have ironed this all out.

Or was Fr. Martin making up these ridiculous stories, and was this a typical blend of "faction" where maybe some truth to it but interwoven with nonsense for some reason?

We do know Fr. Martin was in fact a Jesuit priest, well educated, well trained, etc., ordained in 1954 ... so surely he would have known that these stories are preposterous, and you'd think he would have not delivered such obviously incorrect nonsense.  That leads me to believe that Marro made this stuff up.  And that gets back to why these sensational stories had never come out before, of a Bishop Martin being tortured for nearly two years behind the Iron Curtain.  ONLY NOW do they come out?

Closest way to possibly "fix" this story would be to put his consecration in 1960 (Tardini had been made a bishop and Cardinal in December 1959), so that would have put his imprisonment in the early 1960s, through about late 1961, early 1962.  This also fits with his having been an academic and publishing a book in 1958, so that the consecration, imprisonment wouldn't happen until after that.  So, some of this would be fixed this way.  But then Pius XII would have been nowhere in the picture, and the story of Fr. Martin speaking with Pius XII before setting out on his mission and then again on his return ... those can't fit this corrected timeline.  Nor does it solve the mystery of 1) this non-existent Bishop Hlonoc, 2) why Martin had to be a bishop just to threaten this degenerate priest, 3) why Martin had to train for months to be air-dropped into Czech for this mission or go there at all when that Bishop Hlonoc could have delivered the same message and even defrocked the priest directly himself.  Why subject a priest to possible capture, torture, and execution ... just to reprimand a priest who had gotten married?  Only reason you'd send a clandestine bishop in there was to perform Ordinations.  No other reason would suffice and require a bishop.  Pope could easily just have given the faculties for all priests to perform Confirmations.

Even with a chronological adjustment that would save parts of the story, the rest still makes absolutely zero sense.

Only question now is ... was someone lying, or was this just a jumbled mess, did Fr. Martin say SOME things, and then Marro filled in gaps, but got them wrong?

This just adds to the ongoing legacy of Fr. Malachi Martin (we do know he was an actual priest) ... where we simply cannot know how much is real, how much made up, whether he made it up and/or lied or just had foggy memory, or whether other people he told these stories to messed them up.
