NASA plans unmanned flight AROUND Moon in 2020

  • We have to wait over a year, until 2020, so that NASA can...*drumroll*

Pilot a machine (no men) in orbit AROUND the Moon!

Doesn't the Official Story say we landed men there in the 1970's?

I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I can tell, it was a hoax. Humans can't set foot on a celestial body. It's crazy talk. Just call me a scoffer, a naysayer.

Man hasn't left Low Earth Orbit because the Van Allen radiation belts are lethal for humans to travel through. NASA has even admitted in the past that they're "still working on a solution" to the obstacle of the Van Allen belts -- this was decades after the supposed Apollo missions! Doesn't that raise any red flags with anyone besides me?

Oh, and a close second: "We lost the technology to go to the Moon." Yeah, right! Sure, buddy, whatever you say.

It's like an empty elementary school playground boast: "I can jump over that three story building. I just don't wanna."

I'm just waiting to be proven wrong. I'll be waiting for eternity.

    Want to say "thank you"?

  • In the 70s, the size of the best supercomputer was the size of schoolbus.  70 years later, our basic computer (about 10,000x more powerful than in 1970) is the size of a cell phone.  With the advances in technology, there should be space shuttles taking rich people to the moon by now (the trip would still be expensive, but the tech should be available so that an untrained person could go there on a regular basis).

    .
Where is that technology.  It used to be around here, somewhere.  I thought we put it in that "Moon Landing Cabinet", but it's just not there.  We've checked everywhere!  We just can't find it.  It's possible that someone was looking at it and forgot to put it away before leaving and the janitor threw it out.  We'll just have to start over.  Darn!

  • Oh, and a close second: "We lost the technology to go to the Moon." Yeah, right! Sure, buddy, whatever you say.

There are lots of responses to this quote all over the internet, by both moon hoax proponents and those who think we went.

Just Jєωgle: "We used to but we destroyed that technology and it’s a painful process to build it back again" pettit

The responses from those who think we went are persuasive. We still have blueprints for the Saturn 5, it's a matter of no longer having the manufacturing infrastructure. There's no need to remake the Saturn 5, because technology is better today. But there's no will to give NASA a budget to start a new Moon landing.

    From Reddit:

    Quote
lose all the magnetic tapes containing all of the moon landing telemetry data

That is false and eternally echoed by conspiracy communities.

The only mission with 'lost tapes' is Apollo 11, and the notable telemetry contained on those tapes is the original SSTV raw broadcast data (yes, TV signal recorded on telemetry tape). Lower resolution copies captured on kinescope exist, so it's not as if we have absolutely no record of that data.

But there are thousands of hours of Apollo 11 ground loop data to explore, including the range of traditional telemetry pings you're possibly thinking of.

In terms of TV broadcast data, the good news is that the other 5 Apollo missions to land on the moon have their tapes intact, you can see hours of footage of their activities on the surface of the moon.

  • Astronaut Charlie Duke had a funny response to the moon hoax proponents, "If we faked the moon landing, why would we fake it 9 times?!"

Good question. I suppose some would reply, "To get more money from the American taxpayer."

  • China is "allegedly" on the moon right now with a rover, and they have released about TWO pictures.

    TWO.

    Ridiculous.

What's the problem? Cameras don't work up there?? They just don't "feel like" taking any pictures??
