I've read a lot of ideas that I strongly disagreed with on CathInfo, but I was honestly dumbfounded for some minutes upon reading this reply. Truly, we are living in times of universal deceit.

There is a measure of truth here, but it's a dishonest argument. Western Civilization was built up on the work of bishops, and the various countries of Europe can trace their foundings back to these courageous men. Western Civilization, Christendom and the West have been used interchangeably, and the concept of "the West" goes back to the ancient Greeks, Constantine, etc. What the Communists mean when they push this "anti-Western" idea is not simply the destruction of neoliberalism, but it's a means to an end because these very same people have been the ones filling the West with filth. Russia and China shovel filth into the West and prevent their own citizens from being fully debauched, and not for reasons of their morality, but because they desire to destroy the West, Christendom and the Church.
The early Church refused to capitulate to the Roman authorities' demands for a pinch of incense. Catholic nations banned false religions. What we should not desire is "normal", but what God says, which is that error has no rights. Conversion comes from the grace of God, not from the naturalistic view of history. The last sentence may have some parts that sound good, but this has the odor of Catholicism just being another religion to practice in the sea of human expression. The role of a Catholic is to advance the cause of Christ however possible in their state of life, which may necessitate not simply going along to get along. We know what the Russian government has done to Catholics historically, and we've seen how the Russian government values Ukrainian Catholics next door.
This is peak Perestroika Deception, and something Timothy Fitzpatrick has warned about that I was initially skeptical. This person somehow imagines Russian to be a holy nation that has a mission from God, when even a cursory examination proves that it has worse levels of depravity than many nations in the West could dream of achieving. Abortion, ѕυιcιdє, divorce, alcoholism, drug abuse, sorcery, witchcraft, etc. The worst part of the Soviet occupation has been dropping the average Russian citizens into a spiritual sewer from which it would appear almost none of them escape in their lifetimes. The Jєωs and their idea of Communism was one of the most powerful and terrible Chastisements that God has ever sent a nation on Earth.

Russia is the instrument of Chastisement, but it is a nation of the Devil. It belongs to the red dragon, absolutely drenched in the blood of martyrs which has flown freely from 1917 to the present time. At first it was primarily in the form of bombs and bullets, but the spiritual weaponry it perfected has probably no parallel in history. The Russian intelligence services' propaganda was and is worse than any nuclear bomb that could be invented by mankind.

I appreciate your comment. The original post clearly was trying to explain that going against the modern west is a good thing which I think all of us can agree with though. And yes, Russia now is nothing better in terms of abortion massacre for now, but I do believe that Our Lady requested it to be consecrated so that it can actually become a holy nation which it is not now but has more hope than the west in general. Indeed, I think it might be a sign of a Catholic instinct that you think so. Government should protect the rights of the Catholic religion and ban false (non-Catholic) religions. To say otherwise is to risk rationalizing a solution to the problem from Modern error. That's not even getting into the other continuing errors of Russia.
