Not to make light of the tragedy and cross he has from his inclination to unnatural vice, for which we should have nothing but compassion ... but he needs to STOP putting himself out there as a public figure, some spokesman for conservative Catholicism.  If he were just some private individual, there would be no joke, only sorrow ... but it's really the aspect of his attempting to be and remain a public figure while having repeatedly relapsed into his vices that's what we're poking fun at rather than his vices, sins, crosses, and burdens.  There's a reason that clergy who fell into such vices were sent off to monasteries to do penance rather than continuing to function in a public capacity.

Some of us aren't quite up to speed on the nuances among the different venues for the practice of various perversions. :laugh1:

What is it called when you have no shame? Is it just narcissism?

  • Many bad Catholic lay people and clergy have no plans on repenting at all.  They plan to remain in a state of mortal sin while making money, taking sinful exotic trips disguised as retreats while  being in the limelight.  There is a lack of empathy towards other people including former employees and donors.

That was pretty much my first thought when I heard this.

Hard to say whose luck is worse -- Will Smith's in this clip, or that of all of us if Voris comes back.

I'm not going to go so far as to accuse Voris to have no plans on repenting.  Most of us fall back into the same sins over and over again.  What's at issue is his continuing to present himself as some "face of conservative Catholicism" and to continue being in the limelight (and to make money off it).  He has no business continuing to be a public figure somehow representing Catholicism.

Anne Barnhardt has many faults, but she has a clear and comprehensive grasp of diabolical narcissism.

Voris seems to exhibit several characteristics of Barnhardt's text-book diabolical narcissist.
