Just rumors that he has abandoned Catholicism, is very sympathetic to protestant theology over Catholic, is very sympathetic to Jєωιѕн sentiments of persecution- just things I can't prove but have heard.
I asked him directly through his blog a couple years ago and he said he follows the Church of Dante Alighieri and Aquinas...whatever that means

Judging by his books on the treatment of usury and the occult entering the Church, he means the Church of the 15th century or so, before the changes in the treatment of usury and the flirting with the occult in the Church.

Yes, so that doesn't make him a Catholic.

Well, I believe I'm right as to what he meant, anyway. I think I answered your question.

I'd be very interested to read an intelligent discussion on Cath Info regarding Michael Hoffman. I have read two of his books "Usury in Christendom. The mortal sin that was and is not" and "The Occult Renaissance, Church of Rome" both of which shook me and I was insulted on Novos Ordo Watch for having mentioned them. I was made to understand that these books would be part of the index of the Catholic Church and were not to be discussed.

No Catholic, to my knowledge, has written a rebuttal, so Hoffman's accusations remain unchallenged.

If anyone here has read "The Occult Renaissance" and has a Catholic perspective on the accusations he makes of the Church since the renaissance, I would be very interested in their perspective.

His work is detailed, sourced, and no, I haven't heard a rebuttal. For most, it's something to be evaded I think.
