Next thing you know, they'll be claiming that nighttime is racist, because it is harder to see black pedestrians than white ones when you're driving, and they stand more of a chance of not being seen and getting hit.
Here in the South, where you have a lot of black people walking along the side of the road at night, you really have to watch out for pedestrians (and they are almost all black, presumably due to not being able to afford a car, or not having a license for one reason or another). And not all of them see fit to wear anything other than dark clothes. Rule of life: if you are going to be on the side of the road at night, regardless of your race, wear something that reflects light. I keep a fluorescent light vest in my car trunk for precisely that reason, if I would get out and have car trouble after dark.
And black drivers are no more able to see black pedestrians at night than white people are. So maybe vision is racist too.
