I am an American and parishioner of FSSPX. My home chapel was St. Paul, Mn currently served by a great priest Fr. Webber. Also I frequented mass at the seminary in Winona and know many of the Fathers, brothers, and parishioners there.
I recently moved to Central America to undertake a project here and plan to live here for an extended period of time. I currently find myself in Ocotepeque Honduras within walking distance of San Fernando, Chalatenango El Salvador. I am also familiar with Guatemala being as it is close and I lived there for a month before moving here.
The problem here is that I have no access to the Mass or the Sacraments and it is thoroughly Catholic here. I mean even the road signs promote praying the Rosary. It's incredible but no Traditional Mass!!! I have contacted the Mexico district as this is part of them but they never respond back. The info that is online for FSSPX central America is not only difficult to find but also incorrect! Una Voce Costa Rica well their uselessly asking permission from the local bishop and always denied and then claiming he is ignoring Summorum Pontificuм. I told them they are the ones ignoring Summorum Pontificuм by asking for the bishops permission!
Anyways I have contacted and called and the most I got was a new address for San Salvador FSSPX mission that comes once a month. I went looking for the address that was posted online and was told nobody comes there anymore so info from the Mexico District online should definitely be updated please!
I began to think there was no existing Latin mass in central America and after no one responded or cared I contacted the district of South America to see if they could help. They gave me the email of Fr Guadere whom they said is in Guatemala City which is a bit far for me and who knows if the address is correct!!! Anyhow I am still waiting for Fr. Guadere to respond to the email and I imagine he is very busy.
If there is anyone who can help me establish a FSSPX mass here it would be great. Or any contact info that could get the ball rolling here it would be fantastic. I live in the mountains in a small community of Catholics and my neighbor is a small catholic church that has no priest on Sundays. It would be very easy to get the people to allow me to let a FSSPX priest in to say mass on Sundays and would be great. Anyone with any ideas or help please let me know.
