Our county has SEVENTEEN cases right now, out of 165,000 people. Something like 1 in 9500 residents are infected. That's it!
What do you mean, "That's it!"??? That's 0.0103%! That's five digits!!!!
.
They won't tell us how many
active cases we have in our county. They provide the number of positives (981), deaths (43--almost all of them nursing home residents and all over 65 years old), and the number tested (17,085). A couple of weeks ago, they added a new statistic called the "7-day positivity rate" which is currently 4.3% for my county. It apparently tells us the number of postives divided by the number tested. The governor recently said this number has to be less than 6% in order for him to allow economic activity (other than by Walmart, of course). I've yet to figure out what possible use that statistic can have other than to encourage people to get tested over and over again in order to lower that statistic.

I have no idea how many of the 981 positive tests are still "active" cases and have I don't know of any way to find this information.
