Having once lived in Lewis County, many, many medical professionals in this rural community are Amish and Mennonites, nearly all of whom refuse the Covid vaccine due to its connection to abortion.  Lowville, where the hospital is located, is the county seat.  They may not be Catholics, but these are people who’ve not bought in to the false narratives.  My best guess is that there will be an upswing of home births among the Mennonites, in particular.  Most of the Amish have home births already, and some of the most conservative of the Mennonites.  Lewis Co. is about to hemorrhage medical workers due to vaccine requirements.  They’ve already lost about a third of their students and teachers in the public schools.  In general, Lewis County is culturally 30 years behind the New York City area.  When I lived there during the 1980s, it was like stepping back in time to the 1950s.
