  • I was once a member of the Legion of Mary in my Parish Church in
Long Beach, CA., in the1980's. I remember we visited the sick and
the infirm in rest homes. Most were elderly people.  We have
rosary recited in the Parish Hall, and only a handful of the Parishioners
    attending these meetings.
With regrets the Legion became very Liberal and taken over by
Liberals. They begun to support what appeared to be pro communist
and socialist policies such as supporting strikers and the labor
movements that was far from the Church teachings.

Actually supporting strikers and labor movements is in line with Church teachings if you take the time to study Rerum Novarum, which incidently was written by Pope Leo XIII, a traditionalist pope.

In Malta some legionaries are busy breaking families, even paying for separation / divorce procedures. Very Catholic - NOT!

  • St. Vincent De Paul:  I have the manual and no where in it does it even imply food or handouts.  It did the same as the Legion of Mary.  They would go door to door asking if sacraments were being received. If there was a need for sacraments, a way to Mass, confession and such.  If anyone was in need of food, clothing or such, their sacraments, prayers life was of the utmost importance. For then that may help to get those things that are needed.
