Some “Catholic” apologist! You can’t make this stuff up! His “partner”!
Makes me reassess how many NO adherents truly profess the True Faith..
Years ago I remember John Daly and John Lane said that they destroyed him in an informal sedevacantist debate.
So as not to derail too much, I did enjoy Fr. O’Connor’s tapes.
Vin Lewis’ obituary:
Vincent Philip Lewis, 76 years old, died on Easter Monday, April 10, 2023,
at home with his partner, Lynn Cappa, his sister, JoAnn Cali and her husband, Michael, after a heroic battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Son of Helen and Vincent Lewis, he grew up in NE Bronx, NY. As a young child he had a great passion for the teachings of the Catholic Church. He had a great devotion to God and to evangelizing. He founded ARM, All Roads Ministry and wrote on many religious subjects and teaching materials. Vincent was a guest lecturer and a nationally recognized panelist. He was on the Bob Grant Radio show more than 40 times and appeared on the Sally Jesse Raffaele TV show several times.
He always had a book handy. He remembered just about everything he ever read and thus developed a brilliant mind which took him through school on scholarships. He received a BS from Manhattan College, an MBA from LIU. He was our own personal Google before there was Google. All his nieces and nephews had to do was ask him a question … no need for the library or an encyclopedia… Vin knew the answer. He taught as an adjunct professor at Marist College and at Greenhaven Prison to help rehabilitate and prepare inmates for employment.
At Manhattan College he joined Army ROTC, graduated as an officer, and was sent to Vietnam. There he had a great affection for the mountain guard people. He would ask for schoolbooks and vegetable seeds to help these people through education and farming. After his time in Vietnam, he became a New York State Trooper. He was back in a position of helping people.
His great love of reading would lead to writing. He wrote children’s books, sci fi, essays and plays. Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain were among his favorite authors.
As a young adult he discovered team sports: played football for Manhattan College, later joined an ice hockey team where he played into such an advance age, they named the tournament after him. He played racquet ball several times a week for many years.
He loved dogs and would name them after the Saint of the day. He had the patience and ability to teach them tricks which they both seemed to enjoy. They were his “children”.
He met the love of his life, Lynn, who enhanced Vinnie’s life with a ready-made family of two Daughters, who further grew the family to include husbands and children. Vinnie will be missed by friends and family. As his 7-year-old great, great niece Kate said, “He’s comfy now”.Survived by his beloved partner, Lynn Cappa, Daughters, Stephanie Cappa James (Josh), Heather Cappa Taylor (Bobby), granddaughters Kennedy, Madison and Madeline. Sister JoAnn Lewis Cali (Michael), Niece Michelle Cali Sullivan (Joe), Nephews Joseph Cali (Linda), Dean (Lisa), great and great-great nieces and nephews, and 99-year-old Aunt Carmela, and numerous cousins.
