  • So my husband--a strong-minded convert--received an email update on an extended family reunion happening this weekend in TN.

    Hi Everyone

I wanted to make you aware of a "Mask Alert"  I noticed this morning on the Pine Mountain State Resort Park home page.  I am not sure when it appeared. Please bring your mask!

"Alert: Masks are required to be worn by all employees and visitors when indoors in public spaces. Masks may be removed when seated and actively consuming food or beverage, and masks are not required in private areas such as lodge rooms and cottages."

It is going to be hot. We never have enough ice and they do not sell it at the resort.  If you are not staying at the resort and can bring a bag or two of ice, please do.  You will get extra brownie points!

    Safe Travels!

About 100 years ago his great-great-grandparents settled on a mountain to defy prohibitionists.  None of the revenue agents went up there, because they were afraid of what would happen to them.

    This is my husband's response:

Better than bringing one mask bring all that you have and in remembrance of the grit, determination, and fearlessness of our ancestors we can put them all in one big pile and have a public bonfire in their honor. I seriously doubt that any of our ancestors that settled on that mountain would have put on a communist muzzle just to be "comfortable " at some "resort". Americans have very  few rights and freedoms and we have NONE if we don't assert them, which I'm certain our ancestors knew but most of their descendants are either clueless or too soft to care.
    God Bless

One reason I love my husband; and admire him immensely--his strong belief in principles.

  • Plan B: show up and say you identify as masked.

Really, just decline the invitation. Why willingly be around quivering covidiots?

  • What is going on with Gatlinburg?

I’ll never forget that we were hiking in the Smoky mountains and it was off season in winter. Here comes these two gαy guys with masks and hiking the trail.

May God bless you and keep you

  • His family sound like mine (siblings and in laws, I mean).
Did he get any feedback yet?
