    • It's probably fitting, as this country has regressed to the same barbaric state in which Fr. Serra found it in the first place, so the circle is closed.

    And where exactly are the nation's law enforcement?  You don't tear down a statue in 5 minutes.  It takes a significant amount of time and effort, and they seem to be able to get away with this unmolested at a leisurely pace.

    I suspect the Governor told the police that for any call about a statue being vandalized, you are to circle the entire perimeter of the city first and then head to the scene.  Or, you are have to circle each block once and then head to the next block, circle it once, then repeat until you finally arrive at your destination.

    No doubt they were given stand-down orders.  Consequently the governor has broken his oath of office and must be impreached.
