In November 2021 my brother became deathly ill and didn't bother telling me until I called and he was basically incoherent. His 02 sats were in the 80's when I got there. I brought a few prednisone pills that I had left from a veterinarian prescription and gave him 40 mg.. within 30 minutes his O2 sats were 94-95%. He was still pretty sick but the prednisone took care of the inflammation in the lungs like a champ.
Yes, the secondary cytokine reaction seems like an allergic reaction to a toxin released by the bioweapon.
