Title: ISS feed

For those of you who do not subscribe to the FE theory, I thought you might enjoy the spectacular view from the ISS.

Have you ever wondered if your FlatFantasyFAKE is not Faked?

How did this brainwashing happen to you?

Tell us about it!

I know you think you have reinvented the wheel here, and probably believe you have some great piece of proof to show the earth is a ball.
.
You haven't.
.
The ISS feed has been posted many times. There are some, like Truth is Eternal, who think the ISS is fake. I do not share this view.
.
.
The ISS, I believe, is really up there. But, what it really is, is not what you think it is. It is nothing more than a very high-altitude aircraft. It is even designed in the traditional aircraft shape, as is the Space Shuttle. It's altitude also does not even hit the threshold for what NASA defines as "space" which has been changed many, many times over the past 50 years.
.
.
Also, if you watch the feed you will quickly notice (on a less cloudy day) that there are recognizable coastlines and landmasses. This is actually a wonderful proof of the flat earther's argument. Know why? Because the known landmasses and coastlines have KNOWN DISTANCES. Therefore, one quickly can see that the total area the ISS is capable of viewing is only about 500-700 miles.
.
.
This is very important. Why?.
.
Because if you look at the "curved" line on the horizon you will immediately SEE that the line, if you were to draw it out to a full 360 degrees, is NOT NEARLY BIG ENOUGH to encompass the entire earth.
.
Therefore, the "curve" you see on their footage is an artifact of their cameras, or the glass window they are shooting through, or some such thing.
.
Also, you will see many balloon footages shot from a similar altitude that are NOT shooting through glass that show NO CURVATURE WHATSOEVER.
.
The earth is FLAT.
.

If I cared about proving anything I would have posted it on the FE board, but I knew it would be rejected so I didn't bother.

Actually I don't care if the earth is round, flat, or a dodecahedron. It is beautiful.  It was created by God for our wonder and amazement.

I just wanted to share a spectacular view of our playground.

Since you know the ISS is fake, you had no reason to post this.

I don't "know" it is fake, don't put words in my mouth or ascribe motives to me that you have no way of knowing.

.
The oblong green oval around the ISS position shows the limit of the cameras' views from that position IOW the horizon profile at that time.
.
The ISS is currently over the south Atlantic Ocean, where it is night. The map projection stretches the horizontal there so that the whole scene can fit on a flat display, therefore there will be distortion. The distance from the ISS to any point on that green squashed circle will be the same distance at any given time, yet it appears to be shorter north and south and further east and west due to the necessary distortion.
.
As the ISS approaches the equator, this distortion will reduce and as it passes over the equator the green oblong will become closer to a circle, since the map displays more of a flattened surface in that zone. There is a little compression along the northern edge and the southern edge where the map is slightly bent, but there is also a bend east and west since the equator is not a straight line below, but curves around the globe.
.
While I was typing that sunrise is already starting over the Indian Ocean.

The ISS just passed over the equator and sure enough, the green circle is back.

Marlelar! That's how TIE "sees" it, so don't contradict him! He also "sees" that the earth is flat, donchano?.

The ISS was heading over Mt. Everest so I wondered what that would look like, but then the camera was off while it passed over the mtn.
.
Then it went over China which was a lot of open what, wasteland I guess, but as soon as it was getting close to the Great Wall, the cameras didn't work again. Same for area over North Korea. Probably using the ISS for a spy satellite so the info was classified. Darn!

Then as soon as there's nothing to see, over the north Pacific Ocean, the cameras suddenly worked again.
.
Oh, boy! The tops of clouds! What a great shot ............... NOT.

.
Every time the camera gets close to showing something interesting they shut it off and put up a view from a camera that's got nothing to see.
.
These are basically the cutting room floor shots. Stuff that's of no interest.
.
But it does show the earth's curvature if that's all you want to see.
.
It passed over Hawaii but never gave us a picture of the islands. Duuuh.
.
Reminds me of an overseas tour I went on where a guy brought a fancy movie camera.  But every time something interesting was going on, he had his camera pointed in some other direction. So nobody wanted to see his "docuмentary" because it missed the whole story.

.
You're going to see that green circle become very circular every time the ISS passes over the equator, and you'll see it flatten out (getting wider in the middle and polar end, south or north) when the ISS passes the southern end or the northern end of its orbit.

The ISS is just about to pass over Hawaii, but it's still night there and the cameras are in transition so we won't be able to see the islands.
.
If you were watching it, the camera was showing the Pacific Ocean as Hawaii was approaching, but just as soon as the islands were about to come into view, the camera turned off, as usual, and so you couldn't see what you had been waiting for.
.
Now that Hawaii is out of view, the camera came back on and all you can see is open ocean below.
