A friendship ended over this discussion. My Catholic friend who worked in religion of medical field, was furious with me when I told her that harvesting organs was murder and not Catholic so don’t ever put it on drivers license or they will kill you off just to get those organs. She was furious and we never really spoke to one another again. I still send Christmas cards. I’m sure she got the jab.
The operative word here is “harvesting” as opposed to “donating”.
Donating, and harvesting, a heart or any other unpaired essential organ amounts to murder. It is impossible to take one of these organs from a cadaver to transplant in a living person. The organ must come from a living person.
However, as long as it is a free choice, a donor might offer (for example) one of two healthy kidneys as an act of mercy and charity for a person in need, and one may donate, after death, for example, eyes.
